I own a lot of knives. A lot. Many kitchen knives and many handmade. I did not know why I bought this knife. Something about it appealed to me, and I had no fixed blade EDC knives. I have been using it now for a few months, mostly to open packages, cut cardboard and the like. Today I decided to see what it might do in the kitchen. Not a great paring knife, but would do in a pinch. Then I started on meat. Raw pork neck bones and roasted chicken, things that can get very slippery, especially with a smaller knife. This was incredible! Despite the short blade length, it moved through these tasks amazingly well. The thickness of the blade and the micarta handles were perfect. I doubt I will make it an essential kitchen tool, but what an incredible knife! Thank you, DCA
