KC saves the day.

I bought this knife and left a review on the horrible lockbar, action, and detent. I was very disappointed in the knife at this price point being so poorly done, but decided to throw it in the collection and let it be. The incredible customer service (Patty) at Knife Center called me and offered to send me a better one than the one I received. It came in, and it is far better than the first one. Thank you Patty for taking the time to reach out and make my knife experience a good one. I'm not in love with this knife, but I do enjoy it now. Awesome job KC.

MKM Mercury

This MKM is a perfect EDC. I picked mine up on sale. Well worth the money. I would get another. Can’t go wrong with this MKM.

URBAN SURVIVAL

EDC? THE KNIFE IS INTIMIDATING, SOLID AND A GO TO IN A TOUGH SITUATION. THE GLASS BREAKER POMMEL STUD LENDS ITSELF TO CAR CARRY AND I WOULD CLASSIFY IT AS MORE OF AN URBAN SURVIVAL FOLDER. I DONT THINK YOU COULD FIND A BETTER TOOL.

Yes please

My knife came in a presentation type box which contains the knife, in a nice lined a zippered pouch that has the knife and a small tool to allow you to remove the thumb studs and pocket clip ( if so desired ) which is a nice little addition. There is even a glass breaker that does double duty as the pocket clip screw. The micarta scale has a nice texture and is cross hatched just like the titanium scale and provides a nice secure grip even with wet fingers. Deployment is by either the thumb studs or flipper tab and the blade flies open and locks up rock solid lock up with absolutely no wobble. No hot spots on handle while holding. The Terzula designed M390 steel blade is a beauty and looks like it means business. There’s plenty of not too aggressive jimping on the blade spine and the rest is nicely crowned and smooth. Grind is symmetrical and came nicely sharpened and cuts/slices well and easily. Closure is just as good and once past the detent the blade just drops closed. This MKM Maximo displays the quality of these Italian knife knives. At this price it’s a no brainer! I also own a Terzula designed PDW Invictus auto ( USA made ) which is fantastic as well.

Beautiful design, middling deployment

It’s a beautifully designed knife. Mine is the half Ti, half micarta model. Can’t beat m390 steel, tho this isn’t a knife I plan to use heavily. It is robustly built. A few things result in a less than stellar execution: 1. The blade in mine was not centered; it was biased toward the micarta side, likely because of the stiff Ti frame lock; 2. The frame lock is very stiff, requiring an inordinate amount of force to close the blade; and 3. Most egregious of all is the weak flipper deployment. Honestly, the balance seems wrong somewhere in the design and the flipper tab may be too small to get a snappy deployment. Additionally, it’s not particularly lightweight. I got a killer deal on mine, so I’m okay with the drawbacks, but i wouldn’t pay anything near MSRP. for this knife. All of that said, it really is a beautiful design in nearly every aspect.
