Favorite...but...

Purchased this about 6 months ago & loved it for EDC. Wore it every day & used it quite a bit as a utility blade. Haven't used it yet for personal protection. It's a little bulky but I got used to it, as long as I wore a loose fitting shirt. About 2 months ago I noticed a crack in the sheath. I did attempt to make contact with Mantis customer service, but they never answered my email. I finally wrapped the sheath with electrical tape, so I could continue to carry it. I give the knife a 4, but the sheath gets a 2.

Update... Sheath

Right after submitting this review I emailed Mantis again, and this time their customer service was extremely quick. I received a replacement sheath in the mail today. I'm extremely satisfied and happy to be able to continue carrying my favorite EDC knife. I still have no idea how the sheath cracked in the first place, but I'll try to pay closer attention to the replacement.

Daily Favorite

Received this about 3 months ago & it's been around my neck almost every day. The few times I haven't worn it, had to do with me wearing a more fitted shirt. The piece tends to be slightly bulky but with a loose shirt it's good. It can be deployed easily with either hand, and I can replace it without looking or in the dark with no problem. I've used it on a daily basis for small tasks but not yet for self defense. I like knowing it's there if that ever becomes an issue. I would definitely recommend this piece.

Interesting...

... piece. It’s not quite what I expected when I finally got it in my hand, though. The hole and the end should be larger -- I would have like this, just like its companion similar piece made by Mantis. However, it is thick and well made. The ‘false’ edge opposite the serrated edge is different than what I expected. Sheath is very snug. Al-in-all, not my favorite piece, but interesting to have for the price. I wouldn’t have purchased it, though knowing what I know now, because it just is so ‘out there’ as far as ever being used. Time may tell, though.

Meh

Just got this thing and am finding it to be completely useless. It's far too big and heavy to be a neck knife! The "eject" system does not work at all. Removing from sheath even while pressing the sides is quite a task. Basically it's a chunk of stainless steel that is serrated on one side and fits in a piece of cheap plastic that I guarantee will break very soon. Do not waste your time or money on this!
