outstanding purchase

The Quality of this ONTARIO made Trench Knife is absolutely top of the line. I could not have asked for more. The finish on the steel parts is even throughout, the leather handle is well shaped. The blade sharpness is the best I have ever seen on a production knife. I purchased a USM8 sheath to carry the knife in as the leather scabbard although quite well made could easily be punctured in event of a fall. The military scabbard is so rugged that will protect oneself in event of a fall.

Ontario M3 Trench Knife

The Ontario M3 Trench Knife is a worthy addition to any WWII knife collection. It joins my Kabar Marine Fighting Knife and my M4 Camillus Bayonet and its quality is on par with both. Its sturdy construction also makes it no slouch as a heavy duty field knife. I selected it over the comparable knife offered by Boker because I prefer the early type leather sheath to the later bayonet scabard on that version. The Ontario is also offered at a bargain price less than the competitors and is made in the U.S. When possible buy American!

A pice of WWII

I bought this knife because I saw it in a weapon book that I own. I think that it is made out of 1095 steel, that in the now snowing area of minnesota will rust. I jusk keep this knife inside my house, and show it off to my friends.

Product as advertsed.

A solid, faithful reproduction of a proven classic. After a little tune up and preventive care, I feel I have a real quality knife that was at a good price.

An Instant Favorite

Probably my favorite production dagger. Like everyone else, I like it better than the Boker model. I like it better than my Fairbairn-Sykes (stacked leather grip is much nicer than the steel grip of F-S). Like it better than Applegate-Fairbairn (extra length of M3 blade makes a difference to me, and more closely complies with Fairbairn-Sykes later minimum length specifications for CQC in heavy clothing, etc.). I like it better than any V42's I have owned (blade seems sturdier, although, I do not have the Case version, and if price is any indication, it must be the Cadillac of production trench knives : ) Better than OC3? I don't know. I wouldn't trade one, for the other. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Love the stacked leather grip; really grippy and comfortable. Like OKC's 1095 steel (takes a edge well). The edge is not refined, but I believe they don't send this razor sharp, as many who purchase this knife buy it as a collector piece, with no intent on using it, and don't want to slice their hand open when dusting around it, or running an oil patch down the blade from time to time. With a leather paddle strop, and some FlexCut Gold (available at KnifeCenter.com), you could be shaving in front of the mirror with this knife in about 15 minutes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I think this sheath is just fine, with the rivets, and the guard stopping against the leather at its mouth, so it won't allow it to puncture through the bottom. But, since my wife tells me I was wrong once, I would scroll down and read Robert's, and Arthur M D's reviews to get a different perspective on the matter. Anyway, great value on a great historical knife. Thanks, Knife Center.

Great version of the WW2 M-3 Trench knife

These have been hard to find until recently. WW2 M-3's have soared to at least 3 to 5 times the cost of an original, which makes this a great buy for a knife to be used. Many of the wartime M-3's have leather grips that have or will fall apart with any hard use and are difficult and time consuming to replace. Keep your old M-3 as an antique military knife and get one of these to use. This knife with 1095 steel sharpens well, and the sheath is a quality leather product. Treat the leather handle with Neats foot oil and this will be a knife you can pass down to your grandson.

ANOTHER GREAT OKC PRODUCT

I tried to order direct from OKC but they were out of stock. Luck would have it I found it at the Knifecenter.com at a better price. The OKC factory is based in upstate New York by Lake Ontario and they have been producing quality U.S.A. products for the US military since WWII. You can bet your life on a OKC Knife. The men and woman of the US Military have been doing this for years.

The smell of perfect.

The first thing that hits you is not the great feel of the blade in the hand, the construction quality or the look of the knife but in fact the amazing smell. It weird to say this about a knife but this is the nicest smelling knife in the world. The leather of the handle and the beautiful sheathe is just intoxicated, it's like nothing I've smelled before. I just love it, the blade just feels incredibly hard, a real no nonsense combat knife. Massive fan of the bayonet blade style for the ambidextrous use and the closest you can get for ease of penetration is a karambit, a knife designed purely for penetration and clawing but this knife style is a lot more functional. It has the penetration of a double edge blade and the functionality and combat applications such as blade catching in a reverse grip as a single edged combat knife. Not to mention that rock solid pommel, all in all with the size and weight and coating, this is pretty much in my opinion the closest you're going to get to a perfect combat knife.

Ontario WWII M3 Trench Knife

Absolutely no problems. Well worth the price. Better then excellent repro. If sheath were more like actual M6 this would be absolute perfect combination. No complaining this is the real deal. Mink oil the handle and you will be very happy.

Excellent knife.

I bought one of these years ago. I actually bought 2. I have an original WW2 knife though not made by Ontario. There were slight differences in WW2 production knives. The contour of the handle on some, as well as baseline inserts near pommel and bolster. Also my WW2 one has a green fiberglass type hard sheath. Original hard sheaths lack a metal tip. Original ones didn't have this. I bought hard sheaths online for the 2 Ontario blades I bought and gave one to my dad who passed it to my son. These are my favorite looking knives ever and just feel good.

When this knife arrived, it was not very sharp. That was fine, since I purchased it mainly for historical relevance. Then I noticed the quality Ontario put in this knife, no pot metal or plastic. After handling it a bit, I realized this design is perfect for its intended purpose. In less than ten minutes, I had it shaving sharp, top edge included. With all of the space age steels and handles available now, it is nice to know a classic design is never outdated. If necessary, this knife would work just as well now as it did almost a century ago.

Bought this from you last year an thought I would write you about it. I love this trench knife! Came very sharp. I will not use this for display only. The sheath is very soft leather which I like but scared the tip of knife will punch through. Should have metal on the end to protect your leg. Knifecenter you rock! Great prices. Expect more business from me.

M3 Trench Knife

This great looking knife completes an original WWII web gear set for a soldier issued the early M1 carbine with no provision for a bayonet. Original trench knives are crazy overpriced, so this fits my needs perfectly.

Trench Knife

This system is on my web gear and is a welcome addition, the only problems are the handle snap which should be lower to keep the knife from falling out when worn up side down, and the leather should be stabilized to eliminate water soak. very nice reproduction

Picked this knife up at a gun show a few years back. Came with leather sheath. Excellent knife, Nice and sharp and grip is very comfy. A proud addition to the tradition of great combat knifes by K-Bar.
