After receiving this Knife on time from knifecenter.com I was very impressed to say the least. I am particularly fond of the weight and the design as it is a a comfortable fit for most hands. With the Blade fully extended and locked in place there is no wiggle what so ever. Very Very Solid knife and most important, its extremely Sharp right out of the box. You can move the clip to any side of the knife as well. I recommend this knife and its price. Good work Ontario and Knifecenter.com!

For my large hands, I find the knife to be a perfect size... Only thing, is the liner lock. I find the lock awkward to manipulate because of its smaller size. But overall, I have found this knive to be excellent, and plan to buy another as a spare.

Solid EDC knife
I've carried this knife every day for a year or so. I'm terribly hard on pocket knives and usually get a new one about yearly, I won't be replacing this one in the foreseeable future. There is very very little play in the blade, I've had to sharpen it a couple times but that's due to using this knife how it wasn't intended and it's still solid. The only con I can think of is that the pocket clip keeps loosening, it hasn't come all the way out just loosens up, some loctite would fix it right up

Great EDC
I bought this to a replace a knife that I've carried for more than five years and I couldn't be more happy with it. The AUS-8 blade came razor sharp, so sharp in fact that I cut the tippy tip of my thumb clean off while being a little too careless. I've had people ask if it's spring assisted after seeing how quickly and easily it flips open. I feel very comfortable with how quickly I can draw the knife in case of an emergency. There has been virtually no play after a month of light use and very repetitive opening and closing. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone and for the first time in my life I'm considering owning more than one of the same knife... or maybe the smaller model 2. This is simply a good solid knife with the kind of quality that you don't usually find at this price.

This is my second RAT 1. The quality on this knife is exactly the same as my first one - perfect.

Daily Carry
This knife is light, strong and well designed. Clip it into your front pocket and forget its there until you need it. You can reposition the clip any way you like. Open back allows for easy cleaning. Razor sharp from the factory easy to maintain. Blade locks up solid and releases with ease. As I break this knife in I expect to get true one handed flipping but now its a bit stiff. For the price you can't beat it.

The Beater Knife
This is the beater knife. Affordable, easy to maintain, easy to sharpen and hone. I take it hiking and camping. I drop it in my bag as a secondary to my fixed blade and use it for any and all camp tasks. I don’t worry about it, and that’s what makes it a Rat 1.

Excellent overall quality, with a very fluid opening flexibility. The grip is perfect, the assembly robust (steel plates held by 5 screws + the axis), and the edge impeccable. The black coating of the blade DOES NOT HOLD (simple paint?). After having cut out a few boxes, the shine of the steel appears. A downside that in no way affects the quality of the knife, which offers the best value for money on the market.

I bought 2 of these (one brown and one green) and I really like them. They fit my large hands very well, the blades have a good, usable shape and are very sharp. Their thin handles just slip really easily in and out of my front pocket. I took the pocket clip off (as I always do - no one needs to know what's in my pocket) and I find myself using them several times a day. I put them into my EDC rotation but often find that I'm carrying one of these every day! Great price for what you get - get yours today!

For the money, this knife can't be beat. I use mine for EDC/pocket carry, as well as for mountain biking, backpacking, fly fishing, whitewater rafting and skiing trips. Know that if you really use this knife, the black finish on the pocket clip and the blade are going to come off. The large space between the useable blade and the indexed forefinger is irksome at best-if Ontario can reduce the inch of wasted space between handle and blade, this knife would get 5 stars. Came shaving sharp from the box. The AUS8 is well-treated, sharpens easily and holds its edge for a long time. There is NO blade play anywhere, even after rough use. Great fit and finish, the handles are beautiful and are matched to the frame seamlessly.

not what I expected
The knife was little too big and heavy for pocket. Knife is made in China unlike other RAT knives I have, which are made in USA. I didn't really check out knife overall quality, opening or blade sharpness, just wrapped it back up and shipped it back. Bought a Kershaw instead.
