Big Opinel fruit knife

I will use the knife for cutting and carving fruit and maybe other foods. It feels very sturdy for a non-full tang knife, is extremely sharp, and I do not see any weak points for the kind of knife it is and at its price point. It is a little large for a pocket carry knife - that is why I also got one with about a 3" blade. Great purchase, in my opinion!

Fine for it's purpose!

Some comments seem strange... It is perfect for what it aims to be. Too light? It's weight is a virtue. Where else could you find the combination of firmly locking blade and thin, effective slicer at this weight? The handle gives a very secure grip. The viroblock ring moves easily on most of mine. It does lock securely. If it's stiff or swells with moisture, you can fix that with Vaseline and working the blade in. The quality is extraordinary for the price. QC isn't perfect, but consider the price. Blades are all very good, carbon or stainless. Simple, light, strong enough. Not a "tactical" knive or ideal for splitting wood. But that's not what it was designed for, the tasks you mostly need from a knife.

Great knife. Price makes it even better

My Opinel 10 came sharp out of the package. With 5 minutes on the a strop, it's downright scary. The only modification I made was to run a triangular honing stone along the edges on the underside of the handle to avoid splinters and then rub a good amount of bees wax and linseed oil into the wood. Its also very light for it's size. I think the belt sheath that I found for it actually weighs more than the knife. For the quality at this price, it's hard to go wrong.

Nothing fancy,perfect function

Impressed with overall quality of this knife. Nothing fancy and perfect function. More than sharp enough right out of the package. I have this knife as an EDC (every day carry) for whatever I need a knife for. Inexpensive enough that I may buy in a few other sizes as well.

Well designed, razor sharp and quite a bargain

I'd heard / read about these things (in Guns magazine, I believe) and wanted to get a couple of them. Well designed, razor sharp and quite a bargain ( A pretty good fish cleaner as well! ) I've used it for awhile and am really pleased with it. The wood, if stripped, stained, and sealed, results in a nice looking knife that will attract some looks and questions. Great shipping, great selection, and good prices. I'll deal with you again.
