Sway back reinvented

I ordered this because I was going through a swayback phase. I didn’t have a front flipper in my collection so this was an easy choice. Even though it was not available, I ordered it knowing I would wait as long as it took. (It took weeks) The blue is more navy than the photo on the web site. Frankly I like the “Cub Scout” blue even better. Since I bought this piece for its looks, there are no disappointments there. The elongated oval blade cut out centered in the squared access in the scale gives it a clean, finished look which I dig. The flipper tab is also quite different. Even though it is presented such that it appears floating free from the handle, it contributes to the clean lines of this modern interpretation of a traditional pattern. Holding this knife opened is sweet. It feels solid as a rock yet light as a feather. No blade play or pivot lash. The closed blade is a scosh off center. Of course it holds like a sway back but the cut out for the opening hole cradles your index finger so well, you don’t feel the swell of the distal sway. The detent is super stiff out of the box. I have yet to open this one handed. I haven’t had a chance to loosen the pivot but hope that will make my first front flipper a real accomplishment. I have purchased a second one as a Christmas gift. I know my friend won’t be disappointed. BTW Knife Center is amazing. Thanks.
