The Baby Bear companion knife

Got this as an all-arounder companion knife and after a day I love it, gang. And the main thing I love is that "Baby Bear" quality—it's not too fancy, not too plain, it's a knife you'll be proud to own but not scared to use. The company's approach seems to lean toward the rugged, hard-use side, but mindful that most folks want the piece to be at least somewhat attractive. It sure is to my eye, with its OD scaled and subdued orange liners. Perfect size for EDC. I might have chosen the 3D handle if I'd thought about it more, but for EDC the flat ones are fine. The sheath is great generally, but mine had the over-strong retention some folks mention. A bit of time on the little buds that go behind the finger guard with the file in my Leatherman reduced that to firm retention you don't have to struggle with. The clip plate is dandy for vertical carry, but for horizontal grab a large Tek-Lok and you're all set. You can pay more for a drawer queen, and I have, but for something you'll be comfortable using hard and maintaining because you know how, a handsome, well-made knife as useful as the day is long, this is all you'll ever need. Now that I can get the damn thing out of its sheath I'm happy. : )
