Impressive fit and finish
After considering some larger and heavier blades, this ESEE-3 turned out to be a great compromise with respect to size vs weight. The molded sheath fits the knife perfectly with no rattle. I choose to use the large Tek-Lok system with this sheath, which attaches with two screws only on this particular sheath. Nevertheless, the sheath is very securely attached with just those two screws. Right out of the box, I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the micarta handle scales, as well as the coated blade. The etching on the blade is clean and clear. The knife came from the factory extremely sharp, slicing paper effortlessly. Esee is quite transparent about the need to maintain the blade with a rust inhibitor. But, I feel that this small bit of maintenance is far out weighed by all of this knife's strengths. Great combination of features for a knife in this size range.

Beast of a knife
Exactly what you’d expect from ESEE — solid, tough, and well made. The blade came sharp, the Desert Tan finish looks great, and it feels very comfortable and balanced in hand. This knife just inspires confidence and feels built to last. The sheath works well and makes it easy to carry. Quick shipping from knifecenter is always a plus and why I choose to return.

Stellar camp knife
This really is a superb piece of camp equipment for anyone who enjoys spending time out doors. Craftsmanship, materials, fit and finish have all stood up to the tests of time since I've had this knife, 2+ years of camp chores, fire making, and game processing have proved to be no problem for it and it has excelled in every task. The odds of you breaking this thing are about zero, but if you decide to shoot it or something you've of course got the no questions asked ESEE warranty to back it up.

excellent feel, easy to put a smooth sharp edge on.
Knife is solid, arrived razor sharp. The sheath is good but not comfortable to wear on your belt. The upgraded sheath that allows the handle top to ride at or below the belt line I think is a good carry option. I'm impressed with it's quality. The handle is great.

A workhorse
Tough, sharp, durable, well finished "mid-tech" design. For a relatively small fixed blade it is incredibly versatile. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Purchased for hunting and outdoor use, had heard very good things about ESEE knives and now having one of my own I am very pleased great weight holds a very sharp edge sheath and attaching belt clip are meant to keep your knife from not falling out very good quality
