My Perfect Fixed Blade
I purchased two other Esee Fixed Blades in the past and found them too heavy for me, and the blade too thick. And while I appreciate the coatings Esee puts on most their knives to protect the 1095 carbon steel, I didn't like the chipping and wearing of the coating, and the possibility of rusting. The S35N steel on this blade is more utilitarian to me than 1095 carbon steel. The G10 handle of this knife also fits perfectly into my medium sized female hand, while the blade snaps and fits perfectly into the Esee Kydex Sheath which I prefer over their leather sheaths (without the blade scraping against the Kydex, which I've experienced with other fixed blades). As for the cutting ability and shape of the blade, its terrific. The blade came razor sharp and cut right through paper. I look forward to carrying this knife on camping trips. All in all, this is the perfect fixed blade for me because its not too heavy, the blade is very slicey, the handles are perfectly sculpted, and I prefer the Kydex sheath. On top of that I have the Esee lifetime warranty. My only gripe is this is bit expensive, but I bit the bullet and am quite pleased with my purchase.
