Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Weight
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip

Great knife. Needs break-in

I have D2 version. Great knife. Came very sharp. Black finish tends to wear quickly. Action VERY stiff. Used a silicone lube and worked action several hundred times. It will break-in. Most suspect position of clip interferes with frame lock and this may cause binding. Time will tell. Arrived in a tip down carry position. Moving it to tip- up puts clip on top of frame lock and may increase binding. But, all in all, a great light weight EDC. especially for the price.

No frills, expectations met - in otherwords, near perfect EDC.

Reminds me of an oversized, overbuilt version of the blade most young men have extensive exposure to; Swiss Army knife (Boy Scout or otherwise). In that sense it's fantastic - when a knife is needed in the role of 'tool' a center point blade is my standard. Additionally, for use as a crafting blade - perhaps in the bush - a center point, no frills blade that meets your expectations is almost a necessity- When you don't have to think about the tool your using you can expend that attention in other places (your environment, what's next or what the hell was that noise) and simplicity is key. The scales on the interior side ( right handed) are a bit thin and have a slight "hollow feel"- I would have liked to see that in micarta but I understand that would have increased the price point (which is perfect for a knife like this) so I'm not too bothered by it. The handle is oversized in comparison with other knives with the same blade size but that translates to a very positive grip and confidence in use that some other knives just don't have (perfect for guys with larger or wider hands - like myself). Has a nice slim profile, wears fantastically in the pocket and the only hot spot worth mentioning is where the liner lock protrudes - and my liner lock is a bit of a chore to disengage but that could just be mine; although it opens like a dream. If your a little "ham fisted" and like a no frills tool that does and is just as prescribed; get it. At this price? He**... Get a couple. They're legit simplicity done in style.

Love it so much I bought the D2 version as well

Great blade. Only drawback was edge retention but with the new D2 version that is no longer an issue. The Aus-8 came very sharp and was easy to sharpen but did not hold an edge very well. I love this knife and the Zancudo (tge smaller version) so much that I bought the D2 versions of them. I use the Zancudo at work so I don't freak my boss out and the Avispa is my defensive/woods blade. Excellent addition to the EDC system or a bug out bag!
