Getting a D2 blade with micarta handles, designed by ESEE for under $20 is frickin amazing! I am really happy with my purchase - getting a bunch more to give as gifts!

Excellent knife for the money.

I had a need for a knife that I could use in public without scaring people, my main EDC is a little bit much for non knife people. I saw this knife and I ordered two of them. They are perfect for my needs, small slip joimts with a clip and a blade lock. They are good quality, open nicely and feel good in my hand. I carry one of these all the time with my other EDC.

Great for the price

This is a great deal for a quality knife for anyone. It doesn't matter if they are a knife snob or a knife noob, they will appreciate this knife. It is cheap enough to be a gift for anyone or as a treat for yourself that doesn't break the band. I personally have been carrying this as an EDC ever I got it and I don't see that changing in the near future. Bottom line, for a locking blade that is made of D2 tool steel and micarta handles, for $20.00 you can't go wrong. Adding on top the excellent grind of the blade it self and this knife is a winner. As far as cons go the opening could be better. It can be "front flipped" opened, but it is not intuitive to do so, and I don't know if it was even intended to do so. Once you can do it though it is fun to do. That is how I open it.

Maybe I got lucky, but this little knife has been great. A fine value. No blade play whatsoever. D2 isn't my favorite steel to work with, but it holds and edge pretty well and this knife came very sharp.

I'd fix a few things, but worth the price

3/5/2023-The lock bar is kind of weak, so the blade needs to be opened with some force, otherwise the lock fails. I open the blade about halfway and whip it open the rest of the way to make sure the lock is engaged. The lockbar is also on the bottom, and the tab to unlock it is unnecessarily big and gets in the way of my index finger. Why they didn't put the lock on top is beyond me. The scales looked textured online, but they're pretty smooth, which I didn't like. Other than that it's a nice little knife, D2 blade is thin and slicey, full-flat grind, and other than the lock it seems pretty sturdy. It's a keeper.

$20!! Show me a better knife for the same price!!

First off. The doofus review who asked why the liner lock is on the bottom, you dolt all liner locks come up from the bottom scale. The people complaining about the action and lock up are the same type of people who will tell you their $150 liner locks “just need to be broken in” lol. It’s made in China, so what, so is about 90% of everything in your life. Your “american made” products use almost all Chinese components. The knife came sharpers than it should for the price. All the people crying about lock problems, blade not being centered and especially the ones crying about the liner lock sticking out are just noise. What in the heck are i your doing with your 2.5” knife where the liner lock is actually hurting your hand? Maybe they are too dumb to realize they can send to back for a refund or for a replacement. Maybe they don’t even own the knife and are lonely basement dwellers who want to hate everything that’s good in life. Mine was a little tough getting the lock to set in whenever I tried flipping it open, but if you use one hand to pull the blade open and the other to hold the handle, like it was designed to be you’ll have no problem getting the lock to move into the locked position. I have owned tons of knives. This knife is without a doubt the absolute best value and best quality knife for the price in folding knives. It’s a pocket knife, it’s already a compromise over a fixed blade so don’t expect it to be as tough as a fixed blade, and don’t expect it to have the kind of “action” as even a $50 knife. Buy them, buy multiples, every boy or man will never be disappointed in any knife. We all love tools, especially dangerous ones like knives. We especially like knives with micarta, have cool locks or other features. We really like stuff made by people who do stuff we do wish we did like teach and spend our lives learning to survive like Esee. A knife is cool, a knife designed and used by ninjas, special forces , or survival experts. This is knife that is 2 to 3 times better than the price. It’s a much better value than any Benchmade where you’re paying 2 to 3 times more than the knife is worth. I have quite a few. The make great gifts, they are decent little camp knives, decent whittlers, great for cleaning up a snake, rabbit, squirrel, it’s a tad short for fish but it can be done. $20 lmao the fact anyone is complaining means they are miserable people and can’t find joy in anything, they probably scare puppies, drop kick kittens, and “accidentally” drop kids. Get this knife. Some people spend more on 1 Starbucks drink..

Good little blade

I received this in the mail today and couldn't wait to see it my hand. Initial impression, fit and finish were great, the D2 blade came sharp, decided to give a quick pass on the diamond stone and a quick strop, now it was razor sharp. Did a quick cutting test on some cardboard boxes, the blade cut through that with no resistance. The green micarta scales were very smooth in my hand and felt pretty good. One negative is the liner lock tab protrudes quite a bit, if you have large hands, it may bother you a bit, for those of us with medium to small hands, not so much but you will know it's there, so adjust accordingly. The pocket clip is ok, but I noticed a bit of wiggling, The knife is well put together overall, the blade size compared to my SAK is about the same length but is taller and wider compared to it. For the price, you can't go wrong and would make some great stocking stuffers or a great Birthday gift for anyone into knives. One last thing, a big SHOUT out to knife center for their prices and quick delivery.

Liner lock is intrusive

When the description says, "The knife is secured via a liner lock mechanism and the locking liner curves outward to provide easy access to disengage the knife," know that it REALLY curves outward. So much outward that it's uncomfortable in my hand and I wonder why they did it that way. Otherwise it's a decent enough little knife.

Save your cash...

The knife came with loose blade screws and loose clip screws out the box. Even after trying to tighten them clip has already began to have play after 1 day of carrying. The blade also has a ton of play when closed and is far from centered. Compared to similar priced knives like the ka bar dozier it has a lot of catching up.

It takes a lot for me to leave a 1 star review on something. I bought this knife the second it was released and had to wait for it to be in stock, so I've actually owned it for a while. But I've never used it and here's why: It has an unbelievably inconsistent lockup. It isn't a reliable liner lock at all. The price in theory is a good package. But with such an inconsistent liner? They might as well change it to be a slip joiy(and honestly? I think this would be a great little knife IF it was a slip joint) I can't suggest an unreliable knife however. Please look for something else
