Pros: Weight, Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Feel, Handle Material
So much potential
So much potential, I am looking forward to more from Esee folders. This comes close to a ZT, the frame lock is very substantial and is skelatonized where one entire side is the liner lock and hand grip. Clip is great and the knife is well made and tight. The action is a lot of fun, and the best part of this knife is a real nice looking stonewash steel matching the blade and steel part of handle. Kind of gives it a used look and is great with the OD green. I bought this a week ago from KC and haven't put it down. I prefer the size much better then the ZT knives, this knife is very unassuming for every day carry and general knife stuff. I sharpened the blade and dry shaved my arm nicely and have two cuts on my hand from playing so much, you know how it goes when you get a new toy. They name this after a mosquito and I am proof it has a stinger, blade gets very sharp. Nice finger indent as well, keeps you hand off the blade. However, I am a little disappointed in how thin the blade is and the OD handle material is not grabby at all, I'm thinking about rubbing some pine tar on it. If they make 100% stainless option I would go for that in a heart beat. I also hope they make 100% serrated someday. I don't see this as an every day user, but it comes soo close. If they just beef up the blade and get a better option for handle material. the other cons would be the liner lock is a little to far down so collapsing the blade can chip your finger nail, there is no reason for this other then not enough thought put into that, I'm sure future models with add this feature. The thumb button is a little small and just a little hard to get a perfect flip every time, they can fix that in future models as well. This is a fun knife full of potential, but keep in mind it is 30 bucks compared to 200 you will be paying for a ZT or 60 for a delica 4. I think I'd go to a Delica for everyday carry, but I have to tell you this Esee is an impressive knife and I'm real glad I bought the stonewash blade. This knife is on the verge of being in the class of super knives. Bigger thicker blade with a thumb push with a metal frame and 100% serrated option and this would be the next great super knife that everybody is talking about.
