Fantastic!

The machete feels like an extension of my arm, it's weighted perfectly. The Micarta handle is comfortable and the more I carry it, the more it molds to my grip. I think the cordura sheath is going to work fine, it feels sturdy, and soaked up the waterproofing spray I added for extra protection just fine.

i gave this to my 17 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. he immediately went out in the woods and start whacking at things. A big success.

I was trying the esee to the untied cutlery panga and found good and not so good of both,the esee yas grate on thin vegation but not on thick vegation as where the panga was grate to the thick and thin the blade on the esee was somewhat thiner and souned grate as i was working and i did like that,so to me its all in what your doing with the machete i would like to have the esee in a thicker blade

the BEST machete!

this is the BEST machete that I've seen. This machete came as a result of collaboration with Esee guys and El Salvadoran knife manufacturer. They know machetes! The ESEE machete is a true machete. The size, the thickness and weight is perfect. Great 1075 carbon steel. the handle is high quality canvas micarta. Yes, the same micarta found on expensive knives. The handle is ergonomic and finished well. (unlike on other machetes with handles that cause hot spots and blisters). Micarta itself is an expensive material that's why this machete is not cheap. if you want cheap or inexpensive machete, get a Tramontina. other machetes are good deal however if you want high quality machete that you don't have to correct or modify, this is the machete for you. I think it's worth the price without a doubt! the sheath is ok at this price point. Don't' expect high quality kydex or nylon sheath, It's not gonna happen at $60 dollars. if you don't like the sheath, make your own or have one made. The ESEE machete is a really good product.

solid machete

This really is a solid machine. I basically use it for clearing small brush. Occasionally I use it for small trees but this really isn't he tool for that. Blade is great and the handle is really great. The micarta handle are awesome - really feel great in he hand. They are grippy but could be gripper in my opinion. My only complaint is the sheath. I really like the material but it rides too high on a belt. It needs to be a drop loop to feel natural. Definitely a quality blade.

ESEE Lite Machete 18" w/sheath

Basic Condor Blade that has high quality adjustments. Very Good quality all around but it could use a pocket on the sheath for a survival kit and or sharpening device. You get what you pay for and I would buy it again.

the best i've used for carrying, cutting line, and blazing trails.

this is my go to at work. anyone who is good with a machete knows how to sharpen one too. it has fast action and holds a razor sharp edge. the blade resonates a sweet ting when swung through just right. i've used many models and currently own a few. it's thin and able to slice through with one swing, but not flimsy. i wouldn't recommend digging with any machete.

Only for Jungle trail

Use in Rainforest- Malaysia. I advise this machete only for trail clearing, slashing light green vegetation ( to go through) perfect for vines. Also, the 18" is great to avoid spiky contact. Possible to put down small trees, but the blade thickness is "also very lite" (less than 2mm!) 2 mm at least would be perfect, with a overall of 500g. Of course, It is a lite machete. Cannot have all in one. So this is it's specific job. When I say lite, means really much more lightweight than any "ultimate all in one chopper". Not for Europe or Usa continental vegetation. This Machete is a Imacassa 1075 blade with a piece of usa micarta handle (extra$). Handle quite large (for people with 6 fingers or, really fat ones. Usa...) Also> rc very low> 50-53? Avoid hard wood and nut shell. The edge will take a "S" shape (first time I get this). Can be sharpen with anything... Don't abuse it on dry wood, and it can stay sharp for long period of swing. I would give 5 but the factory edge (convex) is too thin... On a 1.7mm blade it is too weak.

good machete

good overall quality but a little overpriced and too light for heavy work. Good for brush but not on wood, not sharp out of the box, sheat is very cheap, handle is cheap but confortable for prolonged work session. Overall is something I suggest to friends.
