A superb tac pack
I used to use regular backpacks for my activities (commuting, shopping, short outings), but this Red Rock tac pack has proven to be more durable and more versatile. The MOLLE webbing is extensive and strong. I have a 32 oz water bottle holder, flashlight holder, knife/multi-tool pouch, sunglass case, and phone+notepad case mounted on the side MOLLE alone. The shoulder straps are wide, well cushioned and breathable. The waist straps are easily removable. The pack can accommodate a hydration bladder. The main section is roomy and there's also a separate section that fits a 13" iPad Pro or a 14" laptop. What I really like is the small hook and loop closures on each of the straps that lets you roll up the slack and tuck it away compactly. That's a feature I haven't seen on other packs. The cinch straps and buckles are large and durable, making the ones on much larger packs I've seen look chintzy by comparison. The top carry handle deserves a mention also. Lots of packs have them, but most are thin and weak, and I wouldn't think of actually using them. This pack has a very strong top handle and I feel very confident doing a one hand carry.
