Work of Art and Workmanship

I purchased this Straight razor. I wanted to up-grade. I started shaving with one some time ago. It's not as hard as you think it is. You just have to take your time. It becomes a Ritual, learning how to hone the razor, how to strop the edge. This you must learn by doing! Each time striving for a sharper and smoother shaving razor. This razor is a work of Art and close to perfection. The workmanship is outstanding. The quality of Shave from this Razor is, "Army Officer" quality. Very pleased with this razor.

Who Honed it; Who Heat Treated it?

There’s a lot of difference in straight razor even from the same manufacturer and same lot. This is do to variances in alloys and heat treatment furnace temperatures. An inexpensive razor may out shave a very expensive one. The takeaway: If You find a great shaving straight razor keep it~! No matter who manufacturers it. Moreover, who hones the razor is of a vast difference. Learn to hone your razors yourself. Germany requires 5 years of training to earn the title of “Hone Master. Learning to shave with a straight razor and learning to hone one is a skill that will last you a lifetime. For the money spent these are excellent straight razors. Hone them properly and they will last a lifetime.

Poor quality

Overall poor quality! I purchased knowing this is a cheaper razor. The flat grind on the blade is not centered. The secondary hollow grind is uneven/warped. It has taken a considerable amount of honing to get it usable. While shaving with this razor, you will have to strop twice to be able to complete the shave. Don't waste your money on this one.
