Good place to start SR shaving
I am happy with the Robert Klaas straight razor. Direct from the package, I wiped it, stropped it (10 very light cleaning laps on cotton, 100 normal laps on high quality 3” horsehide), and test shaved WTG and ATG. The edge can no doubt be improved, but it was as shave ready as the entry level Dovo, Ralf Aust, and Boker razors I have purchased in recent months. Under careful inspection, I didn’t find any flaws in the blade, scales, or assembly of the razor. The aesthetics are excellent for an entry level straight razor. I have since lightly and quickly finish honed this razor on a 12k synthetic stone and stropped on a progression of diamond pasted balsa, with very satisfactory results. The Klaas is a fine deal. I would unhesitatingly recommend KnifeCenter and this razor to a beginner looking to try straight razor shaving with a minimal investment. A decent strop is of course a necessity.
