Great first impression!

I use this for camping and light bushcraft activities. This knife feels great and weighs perfectly for me. I haven’t beaten it up too much yet, but my first impression is very high. Not a great knife for small carving activities and it doesn’t have a 90 degree spine.

Love this knife

Excellent fit and finish. You can tell Fenix had a lot of influence in quality control. Reminds me of other knives I own that were 3 times the price. Came razor sharp out of the box. Perfect uniform grind on the blade that's thick all the way to the point. The sheath is actually decent. I like how you can adjust the tension that secures the knife. The knife feels substantial but not overly heavy for carrying. Grip is well finished. My hands are between large and extra large in gloves and it fits me perfectly. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent quality at a great price

This is an initial impression review, but I can already say I am very impressed with this knife. I got this to be a camping knife that will be solid enough for moderate work while still being light enough to pack around comfortably. The size, weight and balance are spot-on for me. It is maneuverable and feels solid in the hand without feeling bulky or heavy like some other survival-type blades. I can't speak to the steel durability and edge maintenance yet, but spec-wise it should be good to go. The blade came decently sharp with a medium stonewash finish. Fit and finish is quite good and all handling surfaces are smoothed over with no hard edges. The jimping is comfortable and feels effective. The handle scales are well shaped for a small and comfortable grip and have a very nice texture that is grippy but not abrasive. The scabbard seems to be decent quality and the retention is adjustable which is nice. I do have a few critiques. First, I think the handle should be about a half inch longer. My hands are medium-to-large glove size and the butt of the knife pretty much ends at the edge of my palm. It might be a little too small for larger mitts, and it would be hard to use the butt of the knife for camp/survival work. Similarly it would be nice if the steel on the butt extended slightly more past the scales so you could bash with it more safely if needed. Another nitpick is that, because the swedge and all the non-cutting edges of the steel are rounded for comfort, it can't really be used to strike a fire-steel, if that's your thing. If RUIKE made a gen-2 version that addressed these couple things, it would be pretty much perfect in my book.

Great knife! Worth more than they sell for.

I use mine as an EDC at work but it goes camping and hiking with me to. Very solid build and the grips fit my hand like a custom fit. Not designed for batoning but I’ve done it several times with no adverse effects. Ruined has hardened it to a “t” so it take an edge and holds it quite well. I keep thinking of getting a second one “just in case”. Nice heft without getting heavy

Very Impressed - One of My Favs

The combination of good blade steel and good contoured g10 handles at a price that could easily be doubled for a knife of this quality. I have used it in basic camping/ bushcraft tasks to field dressing a couple does and really think this knife stands out at this price point. The 14c28n is a great steel and very under rated for its durability, corrosion resistance, edge retention, and it strops back to razor edge after each outing. Sheath is also very good with the adjustable clicker tab.

Very well made. Buying another.

Tried this brand over some more popular knives and am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the blade, grip and adjustable sheath. Out of the box it’s sharp as a razor.
