5 years later

After five years using the hornet I still like it very much. NOT a candiru killer as it is not in the same class, Candiru is a great miniscule neck knife, i carry one, hornets blade is as long as the candiru and makes for a great edc belt knife on a budget and is in my daily rotation of much more expensive fixed and folding knives. My favorite is not the most expensive at all, my bk24 with custom scales is still an all time favorite and the hornet is close contender, my only minor ding is the cheap feeling but perfectly functional sheath that I will eventually replace with a kydex and or leather sheath I will make.

Perfect

I wanted an EDC survival fixed blade. So far it has fit the bill perfectly. I carry it openly at work and concealed about town. The sheath does stand off a bit but that means it is comfortable. It sticks out no more than a spare double stack magazine. Materials and workmanship are equal to or greater than other options I considered that cost half again as much. Very happy with this purchase.

Good edc

I carry 2-3 blades at all times 1 or 2 folders plus a fixed blade (I live in the lovely woods) but unlike other reviewer I have NO problem concealing this blade when I go to town. I understand what they are saying as the sheath does sit about a inch measured from body to outside of sheath, but I see that as a plus as it does not sit plastered to my side in hot weather, besides can be easily modified to sit closer, simple way would chicago screw some leather to it and instant close to body carry. I make my own kydex sheaths and will make a close to body fit one next winter. Blade was ground well, edge came ground even, but reprofiled to my liking as i do with almost all my knives regardless of cost, it is a very light knife. I have a few favorite small fixed blades for edc like bk24-14, Tops cat or Ute, Coye ridgeback, Benchmade steep country or hidden canyon. Though if is not as good as steel as my costlier blades, for wet weather use it has always been sufficient for daily outdoor tasks. I am impressed overall for the price and now have a few of them, also makes a great gift

Perfect edc if it weren’t for the sheath

Knife is great. Perfect all around edc fixed blade. The sheath kills it however. Sheath very bulky and sticks out from body excessively. Impossible to conceal.
