This is a well weighted and balanced non-lethal deterrent. I don't suggest bringing a stick to a gun fight, but having a bit of extra security isn't a bad thing that you can leave beside your seat in your car. I like using mine on walks to fend off aggressive dogs. It also fits nicely in my briefcase and backpack.
