In 2016, I seriously started collecting budget modern folders and used to think paying over $50 for a knife back then was very expensive. How very foolish of me. About 3 years ago, my interest went back to collecting traditional knives (my first knife I got was a traditional slipjoint folder, which my dad got for me when I was 5 years old when I expressed my interest in whittling.) I own a variety of Buck, Case, Rough Ryders, Marbles, Schrade, Imperial, Bear & Son, Jack Wolfs, Vipers and on, which are traditional slip joint knives.. When Rosecraft emerged on the scene several years ago, I immediately jumped on buying their traditional folders (I own over a dozen of them), which I found more attractive than most slipjoints but quickly noticed for over half the Rosecraft traditional knife models I have purchased, were very hard to pull out the blades with the nail nick, so much so, I couldn't even pull the blade out with pliers (I am not joking). I have broken and ripped off my thumb and index fingernails on most of my Rosecraft traditional knives but I could not help myself from buying them because they look so beautiful looking compared to many traditional knives and incredibly affordable. Rosecraft handles are incredibly beautiful wood and bone handles are incomparable, and compare closely to a GEC. This Sweetwater Creek Senator was going to be my last Rosecraft but this knife surprised me because it was EASY TO PULL OUT and I didn't break a fingernail! The pull on mine is about a 6, compared to most Rosecraft tranditional slipjoints, which are about a 7.5 to 10. This knife also has simply gorgeous Sandalwood Handle, a striking spade shield and the blade is very sharp. I love the size and sharpness of the D2 blade, the lambsfoot shape of the blade, and the perfect fit and finish of this Rosecraft, which makes the knife seem more expensive than it is. All in all, this is Sweetwater Creek Senator is a excellent knife and I heartily recommend buying one.
