Excellence in a simple design

EDC. Superior execution of a simple design with excellent materials. Figure hardness about 58 RC. Very very sharp out of a well designed box. Excellent grind, fit & finish. Two comments: 1. There is a small access for a lanyard - loop at handle end. Micro cord 1.18 mm fits. 2. Handle is some what porous. Not a complaint, just an observation. Used old tooth brush to apply sparing amount of Renaissance Wax ... looks nicer and sealed from 'stuff'

Pick one up at a low introductory price.

Great retelling of a gentleman’s slip joint folder. The current trend of merging old school knife tech and modern materials and techniques needs to be supported. This knife is a very nice example of that amalgamation working. Bonus, it’s at a budget price. It looks great. It’s slim but the length still fills the hand nicely. Expect some variation in the micarta from the pictures. My example is lighter in color. Also, the stop on the blade is not at halfway like a traditional slip joint. The first stop on this knife closer to seventy five percent. No real complaints. It’s a light duty slip joint. Keep your expectations reasonable and you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful Knife

clean simple design with a good grip. This knife made me change my mind about slip joints, I think they are pretty alright now. this is great for food prep on trails and makes a great office carry with its non aggressive appearance and action. Notes: The handle will darken a shade pretty fast, and the blade is very glinty for outdoor mid-day use - but looks like it belongs at a beach anyway

Fantastic pocket knife

The Gslip in VG10 is a fantastic pocket knife at a great price. At around $50 you get micarta handles, a VG10 blade that is super slicey, great walk and talk, and an excellent pocket clip. Also, this guy looks great...perfect for EDC. If it was half an inch shorter, I would recommend for the office. I was very impressed by how well this moves through material, too. Great knife, give it a shot!

Great Modern Traditional

No matter if you are a traditional fan, or a modern/ tactical fan, this knife will appease both ends of the spectrum. I became a fan of Real Steel when I purchased a Megaladon a few years back, so I had no issue pulling the trigger on this one at the sale price ($39). Great "gentleman's" knife, well suited for work, play, or dress. The pictures don't do the blade any justice. You will be pleasantly surprised by the high quality fit and finish. The Gslip is a little taller and slightly longer than a traditional trapper pattern, and include a half-stop, that's more 3/4 of the way to the open position.

NOT THE BEST STEEL OUT THERE BUT HOLDS A DECENT EDGE AND EASY TO RESHARPEN. THE BLADE GRIND AND EDGE GRIND ARE PERFECT. THE WIRE POCKET CLIP IS PERFECT, DEEP CARRY, SLIDES IN AND OUT OF THE POCKET EASILY. BLADE LENGTH IS PERFECT FOR MY NEEDS. SIMPLE YET ELEGANT DESIGN. THE CROWNED BACK SPRING IS A NICE TOUCH. Knifecenter and Reel Steel nailed it!

and Reel Steel hit it out of the park with this one.If you like modern sip joints, you really should consider checking this one out. The straight simple design of the handle is comfortable, then add the feel of the beautiful micarta, and it just takes it to another level. Most modern slip joints are 3" or under on the blade length, but this one is 3.46 inches, which I much prefer. The nicely done drop point, with the fuller running the entire length is both useful, and good looking. The Walk and talk is done quite well, with a 3/4 open half stop.The fit and finish is excellent. I love the deep carry wire pocket clip too.Top it all off with a blade that came very very sharp, and it's a real hit. I really can't say enough about this knife. This knife is useful, comfortable, and good looking, and the price was more than fair at just under $40 for the introductory Christmas sale, but honestly, even if you missed the sale, it is well worth the money at the full retail price. VG10 steel tends to get a bad rap with the modern powdered steels available today, but at this price point, I see nothing wrong with it. It is certainly better than the 8CR steel so many other knife makers use at this price point, and truthfully, I prefer it to the D2 that the market has been flooded with lately. It sharpens easy, takes a very keen edge, holds it reasonably well, and it's stainless .KnifeCenter got it to me quick as they always do, and packaged well so damage during shipping is highly unlikely. Fantastic modern slip joint at a very reasonable price!

I was lucky enough to pick mine up at the sale price, but even at the full price, this knife is well worth it. It is the perfect blend of a traditional slip joint, and modern materials and design. The blade came screaming sharp, the fit and finish is fantastic, and the micarta feels so good in the hand. Many slip joints come with a sub 3" blade, but this one at just shy of 3.5" is perfect for me. It has a half stop that isn't a half stop, but a 3/4 stop, which is a nice added touch. The wire clip is my favorite type clip, and just tops off an already good bargain.Overall, if you have been thinking of buying one, just do it. You won't be disappointed. Fantastic knife at a great price.

So far, pretty awesome

Just got the knife today so the review will be limited to 1st impressions. First off, I’m a fan of the modern take on the traditional pocket knife (I have two benchmade propers). This comes very sharp right out the box. The natural micarta is an usual look and it will be interesting to see how it colors over time. The walk and talk is very nice and the fuller makes it very easy to open. Great knife especially for the price.

This thing is amazing. Slices like a dream. Audible clicks are very satisfying. My entire family loves this knife. This is one of their favorites, out of many. For this price, you won’t regret it. Buy it dang it.

Heck of a product at this price point.

The design itself is just fantastic. Perfect blend of contemporary and traditional and the proportions are exceptionally well balanced. Feels great in hand and is a very capable cutting tool. Came nice and sharp with impressively clean, consistent, even grinds. The overall fit and finish is top notch, especially at this price. My only criticism is I think the backspring could be a touch stronger but I'm use to Great Easterns and the lighter spring tension on this is still plenty strong to be a capable tool. Love that they went the extra mile and put in a functional half-stop too!

My favorite Micarta

I absolutely love this knife. Everything crucial is already confirmed or revealed with the previous reviews.. So from a random collectors perspective.. I intentionally pocket this if I know steak is on the menu for whatever kind of gathering. It isnt serrated but feels like a steak knife. Its not my everyday carry.. But its one i choose for specific events. The way the pocket clip sits, without any kind of edge or corner anywhere from either the clip or screws fastening it... Absolutely fantastic! Will not put wear or tear on your dress slacks or khakis. But my absolute favorite part of this knife is the micarta. It literally feels like a cloth canvas. The fibers. Man i love it. It is super classy. Super sharp. An excellent knife.

Great buy!

Loving this slipjoint. Blade length is in the sweet spot, VG10 a capable "budget" steel, micarta handle has a nice worn in look and feel, and the walk and talk is solid. Definitely a keeper!
