surprisingly nice, except for the grind
I was actually shocked by how nice this knife is. It is very pleasant to interact with, much nicer than the price tag might suggest. The overall ergonomics are quite good, as good as can be expected from flat G10. The detent is decent, typical for a crossbar lock. No problems consistently flipping it out with the thumb studs, very hard to fail the flick. Honestly the lock itself is probably the best part of the knife. It's really easy to grip, and the strength of the springs (to me) is perfect. Will fall shut with the lock held open. Fit and finish is quite good, except for one not so minor detail. It was not very sharp out of the box, although it was sharp enough to open packages and such. More importantly, the blade grind was asymmetrical. It looked as though the angles were the same on both sides, but the edge was not perfectly centered on the blade, so there was more material removed from one side than from the other. Would require significant effort and a fair bit more material removed to get it just right. I don't mind so much, as I have the materials on hand to do so, but others might feel differently. Other than that the thing is great, and I might have just been unlucky and got a lemon of a blade. For $28 bucks, I'm still pleased with what I received. You probably won't be able to find another crossbar lock that's as good in this price range.
