Great looking knife

Excellently crafted pocket knife

I actually collect these Old Timers, they are very cool knives and excellent for the price. Have not actually used them for real work. I just like 'em. I will take them outdoors when the weather clears up but this review is for collectors.

This one is great - the brass looks nice and gives the knife good heft, the lock is well-machined and easy to use, and the blade came very sharp. As always, excellent craftsmanship, and everything came clean and well-oiled. It's a very pretty knife. The steel seems a little soft, but also easy to sharpen up quick. It is probably a strop-after-use tool, not sure yet. Also note that the handle doesn't provide much finger support, you could hurt yourself if you're careless. Definitely want your finger on the choil while using it. At the bottom, I would have liked the Delrin to slightly overhang the brass. I can sometimes feel it cutting into my fingers a little - not even a cut, just a minor irritation. The minor flaws of this knife basically go away with a light pair of work gloves.

The holder is practical and fits snugly on a belt, but feels a little cheap. But this is kind of a big knife to just pull out of your pocket and may be illegal to keep concealed in your area. At the same time: it's a dorky, practical, non-threatening tool, the holder is the same.
