Better Than Ever

The fit and finish on my new old timer mighty mite is totally awesome and much better that when Shrade was in the old days. The tooling and the riveting is just perfect and the lock seems stronger than the old version I used to buy. As far as I am concerned, made in China ain't so bad at all. I will definitely buy again if I lose this one. I am very happy with my new knife.

Good to get an old friend back.

I carry and use this pocket knife every day. It is always in my pocket. The best thing about the extremely handy tool is its blade lock. The workmanship is excellent, and was received very sharp.

This is what my pawpaw would have called a pocket knife.

When you use this knife you don't have worry about it closing on your hand while your cutting sugar beets for your grannie. You do need to keep an eye on your brother while he tries the I'll be right back move. And he take it out in the yard loses it and doesn't tell you till thirty five years later. I like finding this knife at the bottom of my pocket it make me smile every time. Bet it make you smile too.

Neat small Old Timer linerlock

Just a handy small folder to keep in your pocket for daily use. I like the linerlock safety of it! Best $13 spent

Seems mostly the same as the old Old Timers.

This was a gift for my sister to replace her lost childhood one, and has the same look and feel as the original. The four of us had an Old Timer as our first pocket knife. I like this model with the single locking blade as good beginner knife. I need to convince my sister to let me give one to my niece soon. I understand Schrade has changed since our childhoods 25 years ago--believe the new ones are using a stainless steel? Given how good modern steel options are, can't imagine that'll be a big negative. Fit and finish seems good. Customer service, shipping, etc. was all smooth--my first experience with KnifeCenter.

Solid, reliable and handy

I have carried this knife to work every day for 10 months. When closed it is the size of a Chapstick, and even though I work in elementary schools no one is threatened by this handy little tool. Breaks down boxes and does other essential light duty tasks. Good lock. Durable materials. Shows no wear so far. I wouldn't want it as my only knife, but it fills a niche nicely.

The knife is a classic "pen knife" and sized as such. Mine came with even bevel grinds and a touch up on 800 and then 1200 grit put an acceptable edge to the blade. Don't expect the "Walk and Talk" build owned by American cutler's 50 years ago. Stay within the envelope of its lightweight size/design (deadheading in the garden, lunch bucket fruit knife, opening mail). It's liner lock is a novelty addition I would have gladly traded for a lanyard bail. It will serve you well or as a first knife for a responsible boy/girl.

open letters,cut sting,light duty stuff this one is my second one the first one made in the USA this one made in CHINA but still is one is a great little knife to carry in your pocket it didn't come to me sharp right out the box but with a few passes of my sharpening kit it now is shaving sharp just grandpa liked it

Finish is good, fit is acceptable. The only problem is the knife steel is lacking the old school quality. Yea, made in china is okay for Wallmart purchases, but for a knife, I think it comes up short. Why couldn't Taylor brands use a better steel in an otherwise good product? It negates the whole schrade experience. I wish they would realize people would pay extra for better quality.

Good knife but hard to open

I picked one of these up in an antique shop a couple of years ago in good condition. I like it except that it's hard to open. It feels like my thumbnail is going to lift up. If anyone knows a way to remedy that, I'd like to hear it.
