The perfect size survival knife (for me)

I've been looking for the right sized survival knife for years. Big enough for chopping or splitting kindling but small enough to carry all day. I think I have found it with this knife I've been carrying a Schrade folder for forty years as my main hunting knife with out issue and i know the company has changed hands,but after seeing a review on youtube by Sootch 00 I was ready to take a chance and so far I have not been dissapointed in any way and as a bonus the knife sharpaner and fire starter both work well too!

I love it it received it as a Christmas gift it's goin to be my new hunting,camping and survival knife love the coating on the blade the weight,the feel of it in my hand,and the stuff it comes with. A must have for the outdoorsman or lady I love everything about it. If you don't have 1 I suggest you buy1 thanks schrade

Lives up to it's billing.

"It is, for the money, the best compact camping and survival knife on the market." Their words, however pretty darn accurate. This knife comes ready to go out of the box: ferro rod, diamond sharpener, striking steel, sheath, and an impressive piece of metal. In my mind this combination makes an excellent entry point. I have other knives in this category but they're either priced two or three times higher or come with far less. It's not light for packing, but makes up for this by being able to take a beating (batoning.) I have to give this knife a 5 for everything it does along with its value. If you like to stretch your dollars and you like things built like tanks, look no further!

Best Beast for the Buck

This Schrade Frontier is built like a tank ! Got it for my son for camping. For the money can't be beat. Love the micarta slabs ! The finish or coating the knife in my opinion would be better if they just parkerized it. But for the price point you can't go wrong.

THE BEAST

Sharp out of the box! beautiful, balanced, and comfortable. This knife can do it all. The sheath is plain but fully functional. A great bush knife. A must have for tthe serious knife fan!

Got this for my sons first outdoor knife. It's heavy but easy to use. The weight is good for chopping just sucks to carry. Overall a great knife.

Very good knife

Great knife, I use it on daytrips, 2-3 nights. Very solid performing blade. However sharpness was not as well right out of the box. A little time on a japanese waterstone and it was good to go. Very satified.
