Just what I expected

This was purchased as a gift for my son who is in the Explorer program with our local Sheriffs dept. Since his brother is a Police Officer, I wanted a good quality piece and I know he will be very pleased with this.

Basketweave Leather Sheath for 4-1/2 to 5-1/4 Folders

This is the second knife case purchased One in Tan and One in Black. I love the case as I was seeking a leather case to fit my Leatherman utility tool and the case was a perfect fit. I was unhappy that this case did not come in a larger size to accommodate another folding knife that will require a leather case that can accommodate 6 t0 6-1/2" Knife. Please let me know if you have such a case.

It's exactly what I wanted

I bought a tactical/survival/combat knife and wanted to get a nice sheath for it -- but no stores in my area carried anything. Good quality

Nice work made on the leather, which makes you think that is more expensive. Strong, well designed and good enough with any kind of belt, even the thickest ones. Kind of bigger than what I expected, which made me reconsider in having it or not, because I thought my knife might fall if I was in a hurry and also kind of noisy having almost any knife there. I just set a piece of foam inside and it seems that I'm carrying nothing and the noise is gone.

Does the job!

For the price, I received exactly what I thought it was going to be... a very simple knife sheath. Fit my knife just right and works well with my belt. Not sure how long it will last as it does appear to not have the longevity factor on its side.

Works as advertised

Looks good, works great. It's pretty stiff when new, so some leather conditioner is a good idea before you put it to use. The finish cracks a bit at the bend of the flap if you don't use some sort of softening product. Even if it does, it's not much and still looks good and works great. Would certainly buy another one.

The quality is average and the leather is very stiff. The sheath that I received with the button a little off center. But for the price I paid, I can accept the slight imperfection.

Nicely made. Bad finish

I bought 2 of these to keep my reading glasses in. They are nicely made but the black finish rubbed off on my clothing. I stripped the finish off and rubbed in some mink oil and the problem was solved. The black on the clothing came out in the wash.

Beware!

I bought 3 of these, they are great quality sheaths for the money. However they will not fit a 5.25" knife, nor a 5" knife. The biggest I could get to fit and actually snap closed was a 4.8" (Al-Mar SERE with a 3.6" blade). So to avoid disappointment keep this in mind.

Basketweave Leather Sheath 4 1/2" to 5 1/4 "

I work in hands on construction proj mgmnt and TV studio/music production engineering. I use both sheaths as replacement belt sheaths for the Stanley combo razor/lockback folder and the Uncle Henry LB-7. The 'knifecenter' sheath at 3-4 wks old is sturdy, heavy leather, good stitching, really hard and tight snap on the flap. I have two problems though... although the length is fine, the diameter of the sheath makes it really difficult to pull both knives out and I have to make sure to really push them INTO the sheath as well. It could use another 1/4"-5/16" in width. I also would prefer a belt strap sewn onto the sheath rather than cuts into sheath leather to accept my belt. It causes the sheath to curve at the belt making it even more difficult to pull the knife in and out.
