estate sale knife

I bought a handmade bone handle knife at and estate auction and after cleaning it up I needed a sheath so I turned to Knifecenter. My knife has a 4.5 in blade and fits well in this sheath. The handle has a slight curve to it and the low placement of the hold down was just right. This is a well made sheath and for the price can't be beat. The only thing I am going to have to do is shorten the loop for the belt to run through as it rides a little lower than I like.

Great value sheath

I needed a good leather sheath to replace the unsatisfactory (rattling) Kydex sheath that came with my new Manly Drugar. Blade Length 4.33" (110mm). This fits perfectly. The strap is also the right length for the milled G-10 handle on the Drugar. I appreciate the quality of the leather and the stitching. The belt loop is ample and can be used with belt widths up to 4 inches. Oh, did I mention the price? What a terrific deal this is (especially on KnifeCenter's Free Shipping days)..

Pretty good

Overall a good sheath. The snap closer is a little tight, but it's starting to get broken in. The leather is thick and stiff, which is great. It keeps my old knife in place.

Basketweave Leather Sheath (Black) Fits up to 5

It is what it is, and fine for the price. However, the black finish is not a dye, as one would expect, but more of a paint or surface finish. It is not pliable, and when flexed, it cracks - especially on the belt loop. Leather beneath cracked as well - needed to be oiled before use. The Natural sheath did not have this problem, and is probably the way to go. If you want black, you could use shoe die on it, followed with Kiwi if you want it shiney.

didn't fit my knife

According to my measurement (I didn't use calipers), the handle snap should accommodate no more than approx. 1.125" handle diameter, and the sheath should accommodate no more than approx. 1.5" width knife blade. However, the knife I purchased this for was less than these two specs, and yet didn't fit. Also, the rivets can damage the knife blade.
