First of many Hogues

EDC that feels combat ready…I truly love mine. I’ve read mixed reviews, mostly concerning the tightness of opening and am still breaking mine in. It is a bit stiff but a snap of the wrist and she locks up like she means it. The blade is every bit as sharp as my Essees. And my Essees are surgically sharp! I love the button lock and the switch lock about makes it a fixed blade. Very solid feel, very grippy handle. It’s a five star knife all day in my opinion and I expect my nephew will own this knife after I pass…and it’ll still be a five star knife. The pocket clip is tight enough to hold her securely in the pocket of some silk pajamas. I can’t say enough good about it.

Great Knife!

SIG Emperor Scorpion X1-MicroFlip purchased for EDC. The knife is very well made, attractive in a slightly militaristic way & the blade is sharp & finely honed. The knife is a little heavier than most light weight EDCs, but just feels solid. I think the product description was a little misleading/inaccurate. The product description references Hogue's automatic knives, possibly leading to some confusion, but this knife is a flipper (hence, MicroFlip). The flipping action is good & in my opinion, better than an auto in this application. Secondly, the product description indicates that the locking mechanism functions with the blade in the open and in the closed position. However, the blade lock on this knife only functions with the blade in the open position, as it should be with a manual knife. This knife will be among my favorite EDCs for a long time to come.

Disappointed

It is a nice looking knife and very sharp out of the box. I do like the lock. It is hard to open though. You have to really flick it to open it all the way. The pocket clip broke off today. It had been my EDC knife for the past three weeks but without the pocket clip it will probably go back in the drawer. I have never had a problem with the pocket clip on my other knives. The lock does NOT lock the knife closed as advertised, or mine has another defect.
