It is a great tool it looks as good in the pack as it works and i use it on all my kitchen knives and my pocket knives great tool to carry in pocket.

Smith's knife sharpener

This is the second one I have purchased. I gave this one to my grandson as a gift. I use mine to keep my personal knives sharp and also kitchen cutlery in good condition.

I have a shelf full of sharpeners , stones, oils, etc. This is tho one I use most. Compact, versatile, and it works. Family member admired it so this one is his gift.

Great sharpening combination

I carry this in my gear bag when I'm hunting or fishing. It does a excellent job of sharpening my knives and hooks. It has a course & fine side, just wash it off with water. It does not take up much space as it fits into it's own handle (not shown in picture). I plan on buying another in the future for my Grandson as he likes mine so much.

Smith's 4" diamond combination sharpener

I use the Smith's knife sharpener in several ways......first, it sits on a reading table beside my Easy Chair.....ready to sharpen my folder knife that I carry daily......and also reminds me to sharpen other knives around the house in a timely manner. It's portability allows me to carry it on my person when I am on Hunting Trips......always with me when I need to put an edge on any one of my many knives that are used as hunting gear......I love the way it was designed to allow portability and ease of carrying......I will Always have it near me when Needed! Ron

Works and convenient

This diamond plate works well and is very convenient.The sharpener itself fits into the handle when being used and turn it around and it goes in the handle to store. Grid helps keep it from clogging. I wash mine under water and use a scrub brush on it to keep it cutting well. I find the diamond sharpeners invaluable for use on today's stainless steels.

Ease of use, sharpening to a very good edge

Great for quick kitchen knives. I'm am using it like a steel to keep knives working sharp. FYI: I was part of the group the was creating diamonds by an explosive process for E.I.DuPont back in the 1960s. These were industrial diamonds for just this type of application.

Quality Sharpener

This is a simple, portable sharpener that just works. The course side will repair the blade prior to moving on to the "fine" grit side. However, I have never been able to get any of my knives razor sharp on the fine grit side. It will get them to a very workable edge, however it will not get them shaving hair effortlessly. All in all, a decent little sharpener. I put mine in a bench vice so I don't have to hold it, it works nicely.
