First Impressions
Just received my new Harsey dagger today, and it is Honestly stunning, So I thought I would write a First impressions review about it. Not my first blade from spartan, I first bought the Difensa and have been using it on the daily for nilly 2 years now. Going off how much that blade has been through I have very high expectations with this knife. Starting off with the coating that comes with the knife is Impressive from experience and holds up very well. It will fade away over time with use, as my difensa has seen better days but no ones expecting to be doing heavy duty tasks with a dagger. The steel that is used Is perfect IMO. It holds a edge for a long time and a few goes on the strop will bring it back to were it was. Also it is very corrosion resistant, I have my Difensa (in s35vn) with me when I go out rock fishing and a quick run down with fresh water when I get home, I have never seen a spot of rust on it. That said I do take my knives apart and spray them down with a bit of Inox to keep it that way. The knife came sharpish but nothing to be blown away by, I'll be putting a good edge on it when i get the time to do it. The tip of the blade though comes to a beautiful point and when testing it out it will go under the skin like a needle and am very happy with that. ergonomics are nice, But I do have big hands so when im holding the knife in between my thumb and pointer finger it feels a little off and sits more towards the centre of the palm of my hand , but holding it closed fist it fits perfectly for me. The sheath I chose was the Kydex sheath and is the only real thing about the knife I was not to happy with. It has a fair bit of rattle right out the box, absurdly tight, but to be fair I have only had the knife for a little while and I know it will loosen up, but.. after that loosing up, I assume the rattle will be even worse that it already is. And this is the reason that i'm giving 4 stars overall, but the knife minus the sheath is a 5 out of 5, and is one of the sexiest looking blades I've seen, no buyers remorse when I pulled the trigger on this one.
