Very nice fit & finish. Pricier than the comparable SOCP dagger by Benchmade, but the vastly better steel used by Spartan makes it worthwhile. Sheath retention is OUTSTANDING. Knife locks in sheath very securely. Sheath fit and friction may cause minor scratches or scuffs on the bronze finish, but I don't mind. Bear in mind that this CQB tool, like Benchmade's nearly identical SOCP, is not meant as a utility knife or cutting instrument. The edge bevels are ground in a way meant to accentuate the needle tip of this device. Some light utility cutting may be possible, but this knife isn't designed to cut cord, fabric, line etc. This is a purpose built tool to aid professionals in retaining their firearm, or as a last-ditch weapon. This is meant to stab, pierce, gouge and strike. The edges are indeed relatively dull, but by design. Geometrically, it'd be very hard to get an efficient utility edge on this device. If you want a bomb-proof outdoor or utility fixed blade that really slices & hacks & chops, check out ESEE brand, (or many other Spartan knives) for hard use cutters. This particular Spartan knife is not really designed for, or appropriate to use for everyday utility cutting. All this aside...Spartan did a great job. I like this CQB tool better than my comparable Benchmade SOCP (although their version is still very well made.)
