My Third Nessmuk...

I love the 'NESSY' BIade Shape; the expanded belly offers additional cutting edge! I also own the ESEE JG5 and the Todd Begg War Junkie All Terrain. I love them all, though each is different! The ESEE is the lightest of the three, and the most maneuverable; the Todd Begg has the best materials and fit and finish and is the sharpest knife right out of the box I have ever bought, and is stainless!; and this Harsey is by far the heaviest and most capable ot heavy bushcrafting, with its 1096 Cro-Van blade. I could use this knife for batoning; maybe also the Todd Begg; but I don't think I would feel comfortable using the ESEE that way. This knife came with a rough edge on one side of the blade, but five minutes of stropping resolved the issue, so I didn't deduct any points! So which for you to buy and carry? Depends what you are looking for and what you can afford. The Todd Begg is my favorite of the three, but I traded 80,000 Bonus Rewards to get that knife!; it is my fixed-blade GRAIL! The other two are basically the same price at right around $125, but the ESEE doesn't seem to be shipping from anywhere right now. Today, that leaves the Harsey, which is made by the good people at Ka-Bar, so it can take a licking! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Finish
Cons: Weight

Heavy knife with poor balance.

For a hunting knife it's a bit heavy and the balance of the weight is in the handle/grip. I like the overall design of the knife, but it really deserves to have a tapered tang to alleviate the balance/weight issue. No doubt it's built strong for bushcrafting or heavy duty use, but as a hunter there are lighter options.
