Good Beefy Blade!

My Spartan Harsey Folder has served me well. The ergos are very comfortable in my hand. The blade is S45 VN and seems to have a pretty good heat treat; it has a thicker geometry so it won’t be the best slicer. It doesn’t have a sharpening choil which some people don’t like, but neither does a Spyderco PM2. There might be a very slight bit of lock stick, but in my example, it’s a non issue it’s so minor. Yeah, it’ll be worse if you drench the lock face with oil so avoid excessive amounts of lube. The phosphor bronze washer action is very good and is on par with Chris Reeve in that regard (no washer knife will beat a Les George though). The fit and finish could be a bit better though. I don’t have any gaps and everything is flush and centered, but there are machining marks and a few edges could be knocked down a bit more, again not uncomfortable for me but someone with softer hands may take issue. Overall, it’s a tough knife that’ll serve you well if a few minor cosmetic flaws don’t bother you.

Great Solid Knife.

Overall fit / finish are great and locks up like a bank vault, zero play. If you want a larger folder that takes up less space than an XM-24, this is what you want. Blade came razor sharp and can be slow rolled as easily as opening with the thumb studs. This one feels like it can really take a beating and not disappoint.

Absolutely junk

It’s a big beefy blade, and hands-down the most disappointed I’ve ever been in a knife. After all the good things I’d heard, I’m met with severe lock stick and a finicky open and a thumb-buster when it decides to open and just, overall… no, not a pleasant experience at all. Can’t even open it 50% of the time, and then drop it on the floor and it pops open by itself. For $450 it’s extremely disappointing. Emailed the maker and no response.
