A Proper Gentleman Warrior's Folding Knife
People this ain't no Tofu eating, Yoga doing, Prius driving ninny knife! Oh da** he went there! Yes! This is a proper gentleman warrior's folder. Starting with the aesthetics the thing is an absolutely beautifully crafted knife when it's sitting there either folded or extended. I mean even the clip is gorgeous. It's nice and hefty looking like the rest of the blade, it has the SOG logo embossed/stamped into it and it has a certain battle fatigue to it. The handle is just as beautiful as the blade itself. The blade has a nice thickness to it and beautifully machined with tasteful marking. I don't know if it's laser etched into the blade or just printed on the blade but it's nice. The jimping is pronounced but not uncomfortable I figure they made it that way for outdoor use with a gloved hand. The flipper can become uncomfortable if you're constantly playing with it but I put a little bit of athletic tape on the tip of my index finger and it's fine. If you're just flipping it open only when you need it then it wont bother you. I like the jimping exactly the way it is. It ensured a good solid fit and suits the overall look of the knife. When the handle of the knife looks as good as the rest of the knife you have a winner. Another nice detail is thing rectangular pommel which I guess if you use diagonally, you could use as a glass breaker or use it straight down as a pain compliance tool. Any way I love this knife and I'm just waiting for Knife Center to get the serrated version to come in and I will definately buy that one also. The only problem I have with nice knives like this is you have to buy them in pairs because you don't want to use them. It's like driving a 100K Mercedes sedan off road. It makes you cringe and go eww. So I'll use one just to keep in the case and never touch and the other I'll use. I would highly recommend this knife. I don't know if you need to go full Magna Cut steel it's a folder people you cut your Amazon boxes down, cut rope, grapefruits or make feather sticks at the campsite. Regular folding knife stuff you're not going to be bushwacking Indiana Jones style. Magan Cut for an ESEE 4 or 6 yes but for a folder it's overkill pretentious douchebaggery! Oh da** I triggered the knife nerds.
