A good work flipper

I was undecided on purchasing this knife with some of the mixed reviews, but I'm happy to say I'm pleased I did. The knife is solid and feels good in the hand, the action is smooth and crisp and it feels like a SOG should. I purchased this knife as a work EDC knife (I'm military), It feels more than capable for my daily knife requirements whether it be in barracks or out field and is an excellent size to support the fixed blade that I keep on my gun belt. These are ridiculously expensive here in Australia (if you can get it) retailing around $340AUD mark, but they do feel like a premium knife with the XR locking mech and knife materials and coatings and I am glad I made the decision to give it a go. Very happy customer. For those reading from Australia... it took 6 days from the USA to Australia!!! (at my door) you can buy with absolute confidence from these guys, I'll definitely be passing on the details for Knife Center to my mates and colleagues.

Cons: Handle Feel, Handle Material

Wish I'd not bought it.

Good: The blade shape is a delight. Sturdy, clean lines, and the shark's tooth tip means back-cuts have more effect. Bad: I do not like G10 scales. It's almost always too grippy to allow for easy extraction from pockets/etc. David C indicated these were NOT as grippy as some G10, so I went for it, and wish I had not. Also, there's a strong bias towards closed on this knife: you cannot drop it open ice-pick style, the thumbstuds are brutal, and you're left with a really aggressively jimped flipper or the lock-release flick, which requires a hand position that's not as positive grip-wise as I'd like. And the QC on this isn't great: the flipper action is slow and you can almost feel a sand-in-the-gears sort of grating within the pivot. If I'd paid "usual SOG prices" (somewhere near the $80s, maybe) I wouldn't be so dismayed, but at "Benchmade prices", I'm pretty seriously disappointed.

Count me with Gryffe

not worth this price, should have gone with ZT again. opening is not EDC ready, overall quality not up to American made standards, this made in Taiwan at this price.
