nice edc for the money

The assisted-opening mechanism on this knife works surprisingly well. It takes a little practice at first, but deploys reliably with a minimal amount of effort. The blade is very sharp and has a nice sharp tip. The steel seems like its easy to re-sharpen. Ergonomically, the handle is very nicely designed. However, it's just a bit on the "light and airy" side; perhaps more metal in the handle would help this.

great edc

one of my new favorite folders, i love the way the lock works and the fact that i can close it one handed without putting my hand in the way of the edge.i also like that i can lock it closed because i have kids. the handle is the perfect size, it is extremely comfortable to use. the blade is a really good shape for almost anything, and so far has held its edge though cardboard and plastic straps while at work. there is no side to side play and just alittle up and down wiggle but the lock is secure. it is really light and you cant feel it on you most of the time. the clip is great and you cant see anything but the clip when is in your pocket. i work in a refrigorator most of the time so it is nice to have an assisted knife when my hands are cold.overall i would buy again.

Good EDC Knife

Hasn’t rusted with minimal care needed and the edge holds well for a stainless steel at this price. Love the unique and simple mechanism for closing it. Have used the spring-assisted opening hundreds of times with no issues.

Good knife for the price

I'm very pleased with the S.O.G. Flare assisted folding knife, especially for the price. Opens with good snap. Closing is interesting and works great. I can easily close one handed, since the resistance is minimal after you reach a slight amount of closing movement it subtly stops with very minimal pressure as you continue to close and closes with a solid snap. Was sharp but I stropped it even sharper. Very light weight which I like for EDC. Slide lock works easily....down, it's locked, slide up it's ready for use. Simple really but works efficiently. Glad I purchased it. Very pleased. Love the blade shape. I recommend it, especially at this price.
