Bang Bang Bang for your buck!

As a collector and user of knives, this knife has totally won me over. This is my first SOG knife. The knife comes in a blister pack and does say made in China. However, the knife does not say China anywhere on it. Upon opening the knife and giving it a good once over, I was very impressed. The lock up is great with no play what so ever. The blade rides centered in the scales when closed. It feels really good in the hand (I'm wear a size large in gloves) with plenty of room. Deep pocket clips are a plus. The thumb studs are not sharp at all as stated in the review before this one. They are fine and work well. The edge wasn't the nicest edge but that's where I found out that this steel takes an awesome edge with out working hard for it. That makes this knife a good chose for a good working knife. Ease of maintenance is a plus. The environment that my Traction lives in is a machine shop. Where it cuts boxes, air hose, hard air lines, zip ties, foam, plastic and nylon. All with ease. For $19.95, I can't tell you enough how impressed I am with this knife. Highly recommend getting this one. (Most of my collection of knives consist of Spyderco and Benchmade)

Great value!

I would rather not purchase anything made in China, but in today's world that's just a fact we have to live with, such is the SOG Traction. I chose the clip point over the tanto out of personal preference, and after a few years of carry & use I have no complaints. This knife was a great value for the $25 I spent, and I would definitely recommend it for EDC, for a knife that you don't mind beating up a little.

Don't Hesitate To Buy

I was looking for an inexpensive EDC folder. I wanted a lock back without a black or serrated blade and I wanted tip up deep pocket carry. I happen to like both blade styles but chose the tanto because I've really come to like them over the last few years. They aren't that difficult to sharpen once you find the method that works best for you. This blade came very sharp and the lockup was very solid with no play. I use the knife for cutting open boxes at work. The blade design is perfect for this in my opinion. It can slice a lime for your beer just as easily. There are two things I would change. One I can and one I cannot. First, the thumb studs are to sharp and are one row too high and it sticks out a small bit past the handles. They are a little sharp. I use a knife everyday so it's not like I have señorita hands. The pocket clip is perfect in every way except one. If you pinch it and the knife handle just a little too hard the knife doesn't wanna budge. In a self defense situation under stress I'd never get it out of my pocket. Grabbing it with a light touch between thumb and forefinger is all it will allow. I'm guessing the grippy texture is to blame and may sand it down under the clip. Overall I am very impressed and don't mind filing down the studs a bit and sanding the handles. Many knives need the spot under the clip sanded. A larger 5" version would be so nice!

Junk

Feels like a gumball machine knife!! Blade is off-center all the way to the left and no way to adjust...CLUNK!! That's the sound of me throwing it in the trash!! I wouldn't even skin road-kill with this piece of junk!
