My new favorite folder

The large handle fits my hand perfectly. The blade arrived extremely sharp from the factory and is still equally sharp after significant use opening boxes, cutting cardboard and cutting tree roots up to 1" diameter. Great knife! The only negatives are the weight as it is somewhat heavy, and the clip is too stiff. I plan on replacing the clip with titanium.

Brilliant

The factory edge was excellent, as is usually the case with Spyderco, in my experience. Right out of the box, the action was also smooth and consistent, and it has only gotten better as it's broken in. In addition to this Manix 2, I also have a Knife Center exclusive in DLC Cruwear and smooth black G10 and a 15V lightweight. In my opinion, this is the best iteration of the platform yet. I am a huge fan of the new finish on the blade. I believe Spyderco lists it as "stonewashed", although it is very different from the stonewashed finish they use on their 15V sprint runs. The surface is extremely smooth and uniform, without any real identifiable "scratches" or tumble marks from stones; it's almost more of a vapor blasted finish maybe? Beyond the blade steel and finish, it seems like there have also been some changes to the steel liners of the handle. On this Manix 2, they are solid with no skeletonization, unlike the liners on my KC exclusive Cruwear version, but the weight feels essentially the same. I do prefer the feel in hand of this new Manix, though, because the jimped sections of the liners feel slightly less aggressive. Considering the materials, quality, and execution for the price, the latest version of the Manix 2 is easily recommendable for anyone from a collector/enthusiast to someone just looking for a solid, dependable one-and-done tool.

Great Knife

The Manix 2 has been great. The g10 scales have a really nice texture that keeps a good grip on the knife. I’m impressed with the magnamax steel. I’ve been mainly using it as my edc cutting cardboard and haven’t had to sharpen it at all yet. Overall a great knife.

Knife as represented; Service was superb

Most people know and appreciate the quality of Sal and Eric Glesser's knives and this one is an excellent example: Robust, sharp (not the absolute sharpest, but very sharp with superb edge retention), mechanically excellent and exactly as represented. But what may not be as well known is how good the Knife Center service is. Knife arrived as and when promised and the service was prompt, responsive and comprehensive.

Absolutely love the Manix2

I have a couple of different Manix2's, S30v models. I absolutely love this knife and the way it fits my hand This one did not arrive as sharp as my previous ones. And my S30v was way sharper out of box. That is my only knock on this one vs previous versions I have received. But overall, this is my favorite model from Spyderco. It is a little heavy, and I put a deep carry clip on all of mine. But I always recommend this or the Shaman as a hard use worker.
