This knife has only one purpose: self defense/offense. Its not designed for long lasting knife fighting but for surprising sting attacks. Therefore the knife its not usable for EDC tasks. OVER ALL A HIGH QUALITY KNIFE.
Yes it works rgeo, but it excels rgei. Work on the pocket or waistline draw and before you know it, the knife rolls easily into reverse grip edge in. There is no need to change the pocket clip from its original side. The tip is primary, the edge is secondary. . Favourite folder of all time. 10/10
My favorite p'kal - and primary go too over a dedicated karambit
for those who practice self defense p'kal and/or karambit use (the only thing missing is the ring) this blade rocks. It also can handle a lot of everyday tasks around the office such as opening boxes, envelopes, cutting string, twine, tape, etc.
I have owned numerous Spiderco knives and I have found most of them to be really great tools. However I have owned two, this being the second, that have been made in "Golden Colorado USA Earth" and marked as such on the blade. I contacted the home office. years ago, and questioned a lady about the blade marking only to be quickly disconnected from the conversation. Having acquired a second knife marked as such, I ask the question again. Why the need to specifically identify the knife as having come from USA Earth? Are these devises being used in "Off World Adventures?" I wonder if I'll be hung up upon again?
I love this knife it is sharp fast and effective I feel it is one of the best knives spyderco has produced. It was not made for edc tasks but it excels at most cutting tasks I throw at it the lock is a little funky to get used to but seems to be strong and well made now I do swap the handle scales with the trainer version of this knife because I thought the red looked better with a sharp blade I also scavenged the other pocket clip so mine is unique red with a live blade and 2 clips if you like the look of this knife buy it you won't be disappointed
Pros: Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Blade Material
Cons: None
More utilitarian than expected
I got this not expecting something for use as a utility knife, but it actually serves that purpose well for me. Holding it in the standard hammer grip is a bit awkward, but the two depressions in the handle make for a good saber grip for precision cutting. I work in a laboratory and have found that a razor-sharp utility like this that is shaped to make more precise cuts is much more useful than just a large hacking blade. The wave feature works as expected and the pocket clip is solid enough that I never worry about it slipping out (or even moving a bit on its own). The G10 scales make for a grippy surface and the ball-bearing lock takes a little getting used to for someone used to back or liner locks. If your work sometimes needs precision cutting more than hacking or prying (and for the love of all things holy, just use a screwdriver for that), this is a viable option to say the least.
