Great knife.

Love this knife. I’m a seasoned electrician and have been using this knife for close to 20 years. It’s a great knife for stripping wire, and just all around use. Can’t beat it for the money! Highly recommend it for every day carry, and heavy work conditions. I never leave home without it!

Great Lightweight Knife

This is my first Spyderco knife, and I have to say, I'm impressed! Its light weight makes it feel like an extension of my hand. The serrations on the blade make it easy to cut through anything. I'm definitely sold on Spydercos and will probably buy another Tasman Salt in the future!

It's everything that they say it is

The steel in this knife truly is non-rusting. I've owned a couple of them because I had to give one to a friend after he raved about mine. The edge is as sharp as you expect from Spyderco and the shape of the blade is such that once you hook something with it, it's going to be CUT! As a practical knife or a defensive/fighting knife it's superb.

not just a sea knife

I work on a farm and go through a lot of plant material. Just like cutting through rope this knife eats through any fibrous plant matter. Folding knives aren't ideal for dusty environments but knowing that I can wash out the whole knife with out having to worry about rusting is a great plus. Initially it felt a little cheap mainly because of the handle material but with all the abuse I've put it through it's held up well.

Great box cutter

I work in a warehouse and use my knife for several jobs. The point is sharp enough to remove labels quickly. The hook if comfortable when cutting open a box. I have owned three of these knives and gotten good use out of all of them.

Great EDC

I purcahsed this knife for utility/defensive carry (god forbid) at work. I carry it inside the waistband of my scrubs so perspiration is an issue. Blade is great and the knife seems to be pretty durable even without liners. It is very light and easy to conceal. Also it is small enough not to be offensive (unlike the matriarch, which may be the better choice for defensive purposes)

Tasman: More than I thought

This is being written about 3 weeks after receipt of the Tasman. First up: the quality of the knife is impressive for the cost - it greatly exceeds my expectations. The knife is solid, and imparts a feeling of confidence during use. The engraving (large "H1" next to the SpydieHole, the steel and location markings by the choil) are well done for a knife of this price. The overall fit and finish is superb - again, for a knife of this price. There is no blade in any direction when opened and locked. The blade locks into position easily and assuredly. I use the knife for light duty stuff: cutting open packages - it is stunningly fast for this task - and cutting paracord. I love the SpydieEdge. In short, I'm quite pleased with the knife.

Great knife for self defence

The perfect knife to carry without anyone knowing about it, it very lightweight, strong and the serrated edge can do some serious cutting. Don't be fooled by the size, with the correct application this is a serious self defence knife for those looking for something discrete. I have other knives but this is my favorite.

Sweet Deal

The Tasman Salt is very thin despite its larger outline. It was much, much lighter than I expected. The design of the blade draws it into the item being cut. Its cuts are almost effortless and I love this knife!

Spyderco rocks!

Trust me, Spyderco is quality. I was a little put off by the teeth showing when the blade is closed, but after looking into the matter, I found that this is normal for this type of blade. The only part of this knife I'm not very fond of is the lock. Not a lockback fan. It works just fine, it's just not my style. If you want a high quality knife without spending a fortune, check out Spyderco. No flashy mall-ninja B.S. or decorative crap here. These things are made to be used.

My new yard work knife

It's destined for random yard tasks. It will replace my older Spyderco Merlin due to it's blade being rust proof.

Good tree climbing rescue knife

Could do with being a little deeper in the pocket whilst suspended from it's supplied clip. These things are always damp in your pocket thanks to our weather. But they never seem to tarnish

Quite good

I did not buy this for the H1 corrosion resistance, although it is a plus. I bought this as a 'mini civilian'. To fill a gap in my collection basically. It turned out to be far better than that. The Spyderedge serrations are incredibly efficient at pretty much any cutting task, more so that a plain edge that I can tell. It's also amazingly light. The shape is aggressive and yet not overly obnoxious. I feel happy carrying this on me all the time. I understand the lack of steel liners and bushing helps prevent corrosion, but it does make the action quite tight, It is most surely not a flick knife. Other than that, it is fantastic and more than I expected.
