A superb example of metal art

I have carried a plain stainless Endura for several years and it's my go-to knife for everyday use. I saw this Damascus limited edition in a knife shop and lusted after it, but balked at the $400 price tag. Couldn't get it out of my mind though, so I prowled the web and found this one for about half price, with free shipping. Score! 4 days later it was in my mailbox. Fit, finish and lockup are superb, the titanium bolsters are immune to scratches, and the pattern of the Damascus forge-welded blade is simply stunning. This is a functional piece of metal art, and sometimes I just take it out to admire it. It's a limited production run (either 600 or 1200 pieces) and is not listed on the Spyderco website. When they are gone, they are gone. If you think you might want one, pull the trigger on the deal now. You won't regret buying one, but you WILL regret passing it up.

Unique well-made collectible

I have always wanted a layered 'damascus' knife. Add to that the really likeable ergonomics, a proven design, great materials and a reasonable price, and this was a good choice. The knife arrived in a reasonable amount of time and came with a zippered pouch. Fit and finish is excellent, and the product is exactly as described and as it looks in the pictures on the website. This knife feels very solid and the effect is very 'old school', largely owing to the lockback mechanism. If you want a super-slick-operating folder, go with something like a Benchmade Griptillian. If you want 100% old-school class with some weight to it, and something that will also almost certainly appreciate in value, this knife is a sure bet. I don't intend to abuse it, and will be very glad to own it for a long time to come.

No pocket clip

I like this knife a lot...it's a beautiful piece of work. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 was no pocket clip.
