All good here

Read the reviews about the Damascus issues and soooo glad mine didn’t come that way. Damascus goes down to within about 1/4 inch on each side, perfect. And the handle color is perfect against the blade. Love it. Good centering when closed, excellent lock up with no play in any direction and took an incredible edge after my first rotation dulled it down. I’m so happy with it I’m seriously considering getting another one just to put away while I use the first one!! Maybe someone should look through them over at KC and see if there were a few bad ones that got through the QC?

Woah !!

First I have to give a Wicked BIG Thank You to whoever picked my knife out , because the blade looks phenomenal it’s amazingly beautiful . Is it normal to feel like I shouldn’t use this as a daily carry ? Because I’m beginning to feel like I shouldn’t but mostly also should lol hahaha . This knife is beautiful and so well made , the Damascus patterns look amazing and again Beautiful . The black wood scales and steal back spacer and liners make this knife feel solid and expensive as it is .

New Alltime Favorite

Bought as an investment, I realized my error when I unboxed this knife! I'll be EDCing, looking for excuses to deploy this beauty at any opportunity! The Pakkawood slabs have a feel all their own, and look stunning next to the Damascus blade. The old time authority of the lock bar snapping into place got me immediately, but the equally impressive "walk and talk" upon the 1st closing got a loud verbal "OK," as well as an immediate motivation to pen this review, ASAP! @KC & Spydie, great colaboration on this unique twist applied to this product, & THANKS!

Nice Knife...

...But I wish it had a deep carry pocket clip and a layard hole! Though neither are deal breakers, as I will never carry it; I bought it for type for my collection and to leave to my Grandson!

This is a beautiful little knife.

It’s a good looking knife. And performance is what I would expect from a spyderco. The only thing I would say is the price is a little high for a delica. But it is a good blade to add to the collection. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with it.

Short on Damascus

I am rating this against my expectations of Spyderco quality - I have bought many Spyderco knives over the years and the quality has been consistently superb. This knife is probably a very good knife, but the Damascus cladding on one side only went halfway down. The other side was as pictured, but the left side (the one I would be looking at as a right hander) had more than half the blade showing just the black VG-10. In addition to not looking pretty, I would be concerned about the asymmetry between the sides affecting the blade strength. The always great customer service at the Knife Center let me return it - but I had asked for an exchange for a good one and apparently the whole new batch was manufactured that way. So buyer beware.

Loss-Loss, Win-Win - Delicately

Welcome or not here's my review that explains the rating of 1. To the degree that I was excited to behold and add this gorgeous EDC, I am equally disappointed when it arrived in the state of fabrication another reviewer described. What happened Spyderco? My EDC collection is growing in proportion based on the quality, designs, materials and fabrication from Spyderco (of course the other brands deliver). This particular Delica 4 Damascus, as it is shown at this website, is stunning, but, with this one plea: Please, Sir, can I have some more? Exception, the Delica 4 I received, in particular, the left side of the blade viewed, as held by one right handed, has a significantly sized lower portion of the blade fabricated with a simple. bland swath of gray along the blade where, as I would expect, the Damascus pattern was pictured as fabricated. Not so! The Damascas pattern failed to extend as far down the blade as possible before the edge. As for the Pakkawood scales combination, as designed; they present so tastefully. My loss. Yet, someone at Spyderco surmised that one side of a beautiful Damascus blade looking unfinished (emphasis mine) would not be an issue for the buyer who receives it. My reaction was instant - accompanied by regret. And, I wonder, Is it just one knife or the lot? The logic, presuming as I am, that it's either the lot or just my lucky draw. Or, perhaps a prior customer's return passed on to me. That would be unfortunate all-around. N'est-ce pas? This present model lot or this one Delica 4 Damascus that made its way to this lucky collector, I find, totally unacceptable. Spyderco, I am Immensely disappointed. Speculation won't help. A decision will. Mine was to request a return and a refund. And here's the saving grace, in my view: KnifeCenter, as I would have hoped, treated me and my request to return the Delica 4 with excellent customer service, good wil;l and I was granted the return for a refund including a return label. That's the win-win. Would I purchase a Delica 4 with Damascus Blade and Pakkawood Handles again finished properly? Without hesitation! I am also glad to be a KnifeCenter customer. Another win. Sorry for the rant.
