Highly Underrated….

This may be Spyderco best EDC design….. it’s definitely one of my top 5 designs. It checks all the boxes and is fairly priced. I feel this knife is not talked about enough. I highly recommend this knife!

I Love It

It took me a few tries, but I finally Goldilocksed my way to the best EDC knife for me I've ever seen. It's very important to me to EDC a knife that doesn't alarm non-knife people. The Sage 5 lets me do that without compromising utilty. The overall design says "tool" to me, not "weapon". The 3" leaf-shaped blade is versatile without being too aggressive. It flicks open well, but it also can be opened slowly. The deep carry wire clip makes it low key in the pocket. The shape and texture of the handle is excellent for general EDC, although it is probably not the best choice for using all day. The edge came shaving sharp, the materials are good quality, and I've found no issues in the build quality.

The perfect Spyderco companion

Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I went with this knife over the Para 3 LW for a few reasons. The Sage 5 is a bit thinner and the leaf shape works very well in the kitchen. I also really like the more sturdy construction, with the added pivot bushing, dual washers and full liners. Absolutely in love with this knife, its lock and its action!

So Good!

I carry a folding pocket knife every day. As a sign installer, I use it on everything from cardboard and wood to rope, zip ties, removing metal splinters, sharpening pencils, cutting different tapes, and sometimes even food prep. The list could go on. Handle is awesome, action is fantastic, wire clip is way nice and it rides low in the pocket so you're not walking around with 1/4 of the knife sticking up out of your pocket. Plus the compression lock can't be beat. I have a decent collection going but this is going to be the new everyday user. The stock is thin but not too thin, slices excellent (much better than its brother the Para 3) and it stays sharp. Sure it's not ultralight but it's still light. If you're counting ounces there are lighter knives but this is just an awesome knife for typical everyday use! I don't see anything replacing this for a long time for my normal everyday situations. This is easily my favorite knife to carry and use on a daily basis.

Perfect EDC minus s30v

I have the para 3 lightweight which I absolutely love but I wanted something similar in size but with a thinner blade to make it easier to break down boxes I only break down a handful a week and this is the perfect EDC s30v is a fine steel but boy it would have been nice with some CTS XHP, LC200N but who knows with Spyderco it might be just around the corner I love the nested liners and that leaf shaped blade very similar to the manix 2 but of course a little bit smaller it's right there with one of my other favorite knives to carry that doesn't take up a lot of pocket space that would be the native five lightweight it's available in a lot more exclusive steels and hopefully this will be soon the sage 1 already comes in Maxamet this knife is a must buy great knife very happy.
