Band Aid sharp. The unassuming FRN handles are startling in blue and the details both absorb light and reflect light so the handle details enhance and add beauty as well as a good grip. The blue color in FRN is perfect for this model, which is sized for hands larger than mine, but comforting in hand with a blade beautifully fabricated. Together, the blade and handles are so pleasing to the eye. I loved it immediately, and more after opening and closing as the action is smooth and definite. Despite the scale, the blade opens and the frame lock allows closing as smooth the first time as one would wish. I tried to flick the blade but I will need more practice or strength. Everything about this Spyderco is perfect to my sense. Despite finding the Endura's undesirable back lock so difficult for me and my experience overall less than I had hoped, this Resilence model performs so easily with one hand, and I am so glad I the resilience to add this Spyderco to my fast growing EDC collection.

Very impressive knife! The fit and finish of this particular knife rivals that of my Seki City models, which speaks very highly of the quality Spyderco is getting from their Chinese manufacturing partners. The blade came razor sharp out of the box, with the blade grinds all even and the knife sitting perfectly centered between the liners while closed. The opening and closing action is quite smooth and the lock snaps into place easily with no blade play. For me, the largest downside to this knife is that the FRN handles don't do much to make this "lightweight" model lighter in weight. The full steel liners backing the polymer scales have enough mass that the weight difference between this and their G10 scaled 8Cr13MoV models is difficult to feel while in the hands and pockets. Personal preference-wise, I'm not the biggest fan of the blue FRN handles on this knife. I think that the black G10 they use on the standard model of this look and feel more premium, while the plastic handles seem better suited for that budget base model. Fortunately, the price on the G10 model is low enough to justify buying one to swap the scales between them, if one wished to do so.
If you like large folders and were a fan of the old resilience then you will love this one. Mine came perfectly centered, literally hair shaving sharp and with good action. Fit and finish is great, blade grind perfect. I expect it to be every bit as silky smooth as my old 8cr g10 model. I think for the price and the upgrade to s35vn it's a no brainer. I'm very satisfied with the Spyderco quality of this knife and the excellent service from Knife Center as always.
If you have large hands and you're looking for a folder with a great steel and low price, then pick this one up. The size of this knife rivals the Rat1 - the handle and blade are just a little larger. The Rat1 is a great, cheap camp knife and I bet the Resilience is better. The top of the blade is not rounded - this is not a gentleman's knife. You can use it with a firesteel and it works well. Also, it is not very flippy or fidgety. I slow roll out this big blade and it snaps in place tightly. I'm very happy with the construction because I've seen videos about the cheaper version with poor blade centering. This blade is centered, the knife is built well, and it is extremely sharp.
Feels great, looks great, does what I want it to do!
