Small, light, thin, very nice blade
Nice size, light weight, very thin blade, interesting scales. Feels good in the hand, but if you have big mitts, it might be too small. Clip is clean in use, does not bulge out in the pocket. Scales are nicely done, not slippery, but also not smooth. Think of it as fine, sharp checkering. I like it, but it might need a little defanging; we will see. The overall fit and finish is excellent. The blade is very sharp right out of the box. Very happy with this purchase.

please share the details of your scale mods when you get around to it. Sounds interesting. Still like this knife. I like it a bit more now.

Awesome
Bought 7 of these bad boys for groomsmen gifts and love um. Very smooth action. Excellent gentlemans folder. Sharp as a tack out of the box. Very light.

Great blade, solid handle, eats pocket.
The blade is fantastic. I cut up 8 large boxes and a bunch of rope and it still popped off arm hairs. The thin blade makes a perfect EDC, for my needs. I wanted this model for the blade and the solid titanium sides. Unlike liners and scales, or frs, this handle provides a solid capture for the blade hinge. As a result the blade stays centered, does not wiggle side to side, and deploys smoothly. The back lock is solid, and releases easily when pressed. The down side is that the machining on the sides is very sharp and rips out the threads on my pocket. It also tears the leather on some leather covered pockets that I have. I covered the rear 2/3ds of the machining with black gorilla tape to solve this problem. The knife looks "cooler" now, except that it is "tape". Someday I might machine that area flat and inlay some ebony. when I have time HA. One could also sand the peaks down, but this would really change the design.Overall a very good tool. PS cut some copper wire with it and no blade nicks, unlike vg-10

Nice looks, didn't feel as good as it looked
As an EDC, this looked like the perfect gentleman's folder. And in many ways, it is. The detail work is beautiful, the action is smooth, and the weight is just about perfect. I ended up returning my Chaparral because the knife was so thin, it was hard for me to use it. I partially blame my meaty hands, but also think that it's just too thin for me. I'm back to carrying my Para 3.
