Cool nifty little knife. Although it doesn’t have a true lock it’s very sturdy when opened. You don’t have to worry that it closes easily. The grip is perfect for my medium hands. The curve at the back follows the palm of my hand perfectly
Just what I need. Light enough to carry on my evening runs. Doubles as a money clip when I travel. Very sharp. The color even makes it easy to find laying in the drawer of the bedside table or in a suitcase. At the discounted price, it was a steal.
Great knife - thought it looked a bit ugly before I bought it, but I love it now. Feels comfortable in the hand when both closed and open. it has replaced my Dragonfly as my EDC.
I use mine at work at least a dozen times a day to cut hair off of vacuum cleaner brushrolls, strip wires, open boxes, and cut/shave down plastics. I have been using one for a month now and this is one of the handiest and strongest blade designs I have tried to date. The blade is super sharp but a very strong design. The tip, which is usually the first to go, is extremely durable and can take considerable force. The handle for such a short blade is usually lacking but the curve of the Pingo's handle allows for a great grip and the stippling on both sides is extremely well done and comfortable. The knife is not a locking blade but the amount of force required to close it is way more than sufficient to keep the blade from accidentally closing. For reference I have over 25 Spyderco's, Benchmades, Emersons, Bokers and AlMars in the 2" to 2.5" range (mostly Spyferco) and I use/abuse the crap out of them. This is absolutely one of the cheapest in the bunch at $35 and would easily be my recommendation as the best "Working Man's tool." I ordered two more at this price if that says anything.
I expect that TSA will be giving us back our right to carry knives on planes in the near future . . . they have done so once already, but the rescinded it just before it went into effect. When it happens, this will be the perfect knife to conform to their limitations. But I just love this knife for what it is, even if I never get to travel with it on airlines. I plan to carry it often.
The Pingo is a great little knife! I’ve had mine about a month now and it is a very high quality knife. The fit & finish is excellent, the blade came very sharp. Opening & closing was a little hard but it’s already a lot easier now. The knife is lightweight & easy to carry. The blade will do the tasks that I need a smaller knife to do. I recommend this knife for sure!
I purchased the Pingo because recently I have become interested in a more politically and socially friendly knife. I will also be traveling to Europe including Great Britain were locking knives are prohibited. It is also a two hand opening knife. Very lightweight, FRN handles with no stainless steel liners. I could not pass the opportunity of purchasing it. The blade is short (2.35”), kind of wharncliff with some belly and came very sharp. The walk and talk is about a 6 to 7 with a half stop. Solid lock up for a slipjoint. Has a Spyderco wire pocket clip which is very good. I took a point off and gave it a 4 just because the FRN feels a little cheap and I could not see any washers. For the small size they are not necessarily needed but I would have liked to see bronce washers in the pivot. The designers, Anso/Vox are well known so I trust their design. Very pleased with Knifecenter fast service.
Nice knife but closing was extremely difficult in the beginning but gets better after break in.
