This knife may be small, but it's got a great edge for little on-the-fly jobs, and the second tool really expands its usefulness. You could say its toolset is equivalent to a Victorinox Bantam Alox, but the Spyderco stylings and pocket clip make it more modern-feeling and easier to keep track of. Technically, it is possible to open it with one hand; however, it takes two movements with some awkward repositioning, so it's mostly easier to use two – but at least it's possible should you need to do so! The 8CR steel is better than the 3CR you get on a Bug or Honeybee, too. The inner edges are a little sharp, but that's only an issue if you're really gripping it – at which point you might want a bigger piece, anyway! I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants something versatile and unobtrusive.
Solid, handy, (compact) knife! Who are these people that give negative reviews such as, the handle is too short, or hard to open with my thumb?? You knew what you were ordering when you purchased. It’s a great knife, I would have given it 10 stars, but it doesn’t cook my breakfast! I wish I would have known that when I purchased!

A very useful UK legal utility knife. this knife and a British army design knife , bought as a present for my brother as a light hearted take on New (this one) and old ( the army issue). We are both ex military. This spyderco is nice to use and carry, light and small.

Since I bought my first Spyderco knife in 1989 (a Gin1 stainless worker still have it) I have wanted a Spyderco knife with a blade and a bottle opener for EDC. Finally, Spyderco has made this nice little knife with a very functional bottle opener. Now please please make one Delica sized. The Clipit is a penknife. A nice penknife, but a 1 7/8 blade is too small for what I need an EDC knife to do.
This I had hopes for as a gift, etc. but the ergonomics of the one hole opening system make you think your thumb is going to slide right onto the edge of the blade. I'm sure the steel is good, but the knife is very hard to open so your thumb is really putting the pressure on, possibly to then fall off, after sliding along the blade.
Well, the cost is low, but both of the ones I bought were so hard to open that the resistance, combined with how close the blade is to the handle, really makes you think that your thumb could pretty easily slide right across the edge of the blade. The handle also is so short that there is not much to secure the knife in your hand while opening it. I suppose that as a two handed knife it is safe enough, but what fun is that?
