The knife came in so sharp with a polished edge, super lightweight and the knife is just next level in quality even by spyderco standard. The knife is probably not super strong due to lightweight design but other than that it should perform normal edc tasks well. You can find my full review on my YouTube channel doitnow00.

Fantastic little folder!
I bought this particular Para 3 to celebrate getting a new job. Was hoping that the quality would be up to the spyderco standards I've come to expect. I'm pleased to say I'm in no way disappointed! The blade was perfectly centered which some say is a fault on many para 3 lightweights. I was incredibly surprised the edge needed no attention! I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to sharpness and have a higher standard than most when it comes to sharp. I'm glad and super excited to say that after a few passes on a leather strop this little cutter isn't going to get much better! The action is very smooth and got even better after I opened it a few times. Many people don't like the wire clip but I find it perfectly adequate and contributed greatly to the "lightweight" theme. Lockup is good and aesthetically the blue scales are as sharp looking as the edge! Couldn't be happier with this little guy. I see it getting a lot of carry time!

Gimping on thumb ramp hard on pockets. Very tip of blade sometimes catches pinky finger when opened with thumb. Love my PM3 LT in CPM SPY-27.

Intitial disappointment overcome
This knife came to my with centering off and the pivot was so tight it wouldn't drop shut. All the edges on the spine, hole and FRN were sharp and I had to knock them down with emory paper. After I did all that, I ended up with the knife that Spyderco was capable of producing. Maybe I just got a bad one, but in the end it's a great knife. I have 5 PM3's and this is my first lightweight, and I prefer it to the standard version. I like the idea of the Cobalt Blue scales to complement the Cobalt in the blade material. Definitely a must-have knife in any collection.

I've owned several spyderco models but never a Para or SPY27 steel model. First impressions were that it has a very smooth action to open/close. The scales are extremely light (might forget you are carrying it) and the edge was shaving sharp out of the box. The handle is also large, comfortable, and provides flexible grip options. I did notice the blade centering is a little bit off when closed. This isn't a huge deal breaker for me as it isn't going to be on a shelf looking new forever. This steel is very interesting in that it is one you want to use and sharpen. It's not like super steels that you have to have a diamond sharpener to even touch up. I've been able to maintain it and polish it up to 5000grit on synthetic water stones.

I was holding out for the Sprint run of the Para 3 in S35VN steel when this one arrived. It is my new everyday knife. Lightweight and unobtrusive in the pocket. I am not a fan of pocket clips and the Para 3 doesn't suffer when the clip is removed with unsightly holes or flat spots. The blade was razor sharp and I haven't had to touch it up yet. Smooth action, you can press the compression lock and shake the knife closed with one hand. My only comment is the inside edges of the handle were very sharp. I have a UK Penknife and those edges are nicely chamfered, so I wonder why this one isn't. I took a fine whetstone to the handle to knock the edges down, and it's all good.

I bought two of these PM3 knives, one for the wife and one for me, and they are great. She likes it the light weight and ease of carry when she goes jogging. I like it as a go-to backup carry or just a knife I always keep in with my shorts. I would add a little blue lock-tight to the single screw holding the deep carry clip as both of ours have came loose, and she lost her clip. Use fine needle nose pliers on the smooth side of the screw and a mini torx on the other so you can tighten it up.

For me PARA3 is nicer than PARA2. In my opinion.
The blue handle is not sooooo blue as my older spydercos. (I would preferr more "Special Sale" blue. This is more a normal blue.)

Overall it is a Great Knife. Just one issue. The Screw that holds the pocket clip in place sucks! Everything else about this knife is Great !

Screw for the pocket clip sucks, and it's not ambidextrous
The Bad: I tried to remove the pocket clip except the screw will not come out. It just spins and the other side is smooth so you can't use two screw drivers to get it out. The clip came off but now I can't put it back on, so it doesn't have a pocket clip now. I'm also not a fan of the locking mechanism because it's impossible to close with your left hand. I'm right handed but I will often be using my knife with my left hand, especially if I'm holding something with my right. Usually fidgeting with a knife while on the computer holding a mouse. So this knife isn't fidget friendly. The Good. I love the steel and the geometry of the blade. The knife is really great at slicing and can slice through an inch of plastic bag material in seconds. It's also really easy to sharpen.

Way Overpriced!
Before this purchase I bought and still have four other Spyderco’s. 1) Tenacious lightweight in S35VN, 2) Resilience lightweight in S35VN, 3) Tenacious G10 in 8cr, 4) Persistence lightweight in 8cr. All from their budget line, all outstanding in look, feel, quality, and function. Love them so much that Spyderco #5 was going to be a Persistence lightweight (plain blade) in S35VN, but after having one on pre-order for six months here at KnifeCenter I gave up waiting and decided to spend just a little more on this. Expectation was that it would be better than all the others, you know made in America, proprietary steel, stellar reputation of the Para line, etc. What a disappointment (for $154.00). Steel ok, but nothing special, clip will not stay aligned at 90 degrees no matter how tight screw is, scales have half the depth and equally half the grip of any other lightweight. It is really only just a tiny improvement over any 8cr lightweight in my opinion. I have bought many other knives in this price range, but this is the only one I feel like I was ripped off. Spyderco, if you read this and want to keep me buying your knives, please send me a refund of $100 so I can buy a Persistence lightweight 35VN (plain blade), or you can just send me one when they finally go into production. KC has my address.
