It's so beautiful, I don't want to use it! Came with tiny horizontal scratch in the blade! UGH!! A thin coat of WD-40 makes it go away. I understand things happen during packaging and shipment. But for this kind of $$$ I wish it was perfect. Really can't stop looking at it. I think it's nicer than the $1500-$5300 handmade originals. I wanted to EDC this THING!!! I don't want to have another scratch in it!! $305.50 is a lot for EDC! Gonna have to get used to that idea. MY GOD!!! I'M LOOKING AT IT RIGHT NOW!! CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS THING!!!
Only had it for 2 weeks. Tested it's sharpness on paper and a box. It's so robust, so substantial, so ****ing BIG! This THING is so beautiful! Every time I need a knife for something, I want to use it , but I reach for something CHEAPER!! I've seen the $1500-$5300 handmade versions, but I really prefer this ! The blade grind they do in Taichung, Taiwan is just what I like. It's such a work of art I really can't stop looking at it!! Most of the reviewers WHINE about the detent and the lack of a steel liner lock cover. None of that is a problem. Another reviewer said every cm was well thought out! That guy was spot on!! If u where to change the orange scales, you'd RUIN the whole look! That certain orange with the DARK, DULL, MATTTE finish of ALL THAT TITANIUM!! It's a lot of $$$ I know. I thought about buying it for 5 months. But I had to have it!! If ur on the fence , BITE THE BULLET AND PULL THE TRIGGER! U'LL LUV IT!! Even though I have an AMALGAM COMING!!! The SUBVERT will be my favorite for a LONG, LONG TIME!!!
This is a brilliantly conceived and executed. It’s blade is lean and mean and is housed in titanium with orange scales. It feels great in hand and is very light.
You have probably read and watched many reviews so I will not repeat in detail what has already been said. I really like this knife; it feels solid in the hand. I will not carry it in my pocket; rather it will be carried in a SureFire flashlight holster (for an E2L OUTDOORSMAN). Therefore, I removed the pocket clip. The knife fits the hand very well and can be carried on my belt or in my messenger bag. Without the pocket clip, the ergonomics improved. I do not recommend this as a first knife given its large blade and guillotine action; the blade can close on your thumb if you are not careful. My Spyderco Domino has a flipper on the choil that blocks the blade from closing on your thumb. I knew about this potential problem when I bought the knife and I do confirm, that the blade can easily close on your thumb if you are not careful. I do recommend this knife if you are experienced with quality knives. This is a nice knife to fidget with but again, you should have good technique with that large blade when it closes. All in all, I do give it a 5 star rating. Super happy with this knife; I may put the big Reate T4000 purchase on hold. LOL.
